Can I staple my forms together in the package?

I'm compiling the AOS Package. I am wondering if I can staple the pages in I-485, as well as the different pages for the G-325A. I will paper clip the package, or use the big clips for the AOS package, separating it from my EAD Package. But then again, is stapling the pages of the same form together alright?

Thanks.

Tips for Filing Petitions and Applications to the National Benefits Center

.......Use paperclips when attaching supporting personal documents to forms (do NOT use “ACCO” fasteners; staples are acceptable when attaching fees).......

I suggest you read through the whole instructions/tips in the link

Not that using staples/fasteners will get you RFE but it makes life easier for sorting in the mail room i think

Yes!! That was what I wanted to ask, "stapling individual pages of the forms that had more than one page."

I'll go ahead and do it then. Thanks for getting what I was actually asking. I HAD thought people wouldn't get it. =) I couldn't quite put it in the right combination of words to put across. Lol.

I hope this thread isn't too old to revive...

jdh,do you mind sharing what you did? Did you staple multi-page forms? How did you attach the passport photos? Did you label anything with tabs or post-its? How did you include the I-693?

It hadn't occurred to me to staple anything, because I despise staples (I have to rip them out at work all day because someone who works with me LOVES them.) But then I started looking around and saw that some people stapled. I have to include two marriage certificates with my package (my first one to show my name change) so should I label them with a post-it to differentiate?

I hate staples too, so I was aware of how much they annoy mail room people.

I used paper clips to attach supporting documents to each other and then to the main forms. Then I used a spring clip to hold the individual packets and their documents together ie one spring clip over the whole 130 package and one for the 485 package and then one spring clip to hold the entire package together.

I shoulda took a pic of it. LoL.

Thank you both.

Are spring clips the same thing as binder clips?

And how did you attach the passport photos? Plastic bag stapled to a piece of paper?

I think it's been established it won't hurt anything - it just doesn't help anything and annoys the people who have to take them out.

It's one of those non-consequential better practice things.
