Montreal Interview Waiting Room Thread

My fiancee just called Montreal. She got the mean lady. Before she even asked anything, the woman asked for her ID number and said she was on the waiting list and that there's no date yet. She then said she had another question but the woman didn't seem to be in the best of moods, so she never asked.

Since the lady noticed that Ash called last week, we were wondering if they kept track of phone calls and if more phone calls = black-listing. Anyone know anything about this? Thanks

I don't know, I've wondered this myself. When I spoke with someone last week they made mention of checking my file "notes", so I suppose they can keep track of these things and make notes about it.

Honestly, unless you are being rude and threatening in the call, I can't imagine why you'd be "blacklisted". I'm a government employee, and trust me, we are not so vindictive!!

If they are, then I am in toruble. I've emailed several times! (to vancouver though) At worst, they probably think we are little stupid, and kind of nervous!

Well I am praying they don't blacklist for it as either myself or my fiance have called once a week for 6 weeks now. We are always nice on the phone so who knows. As of last Friday when my fiance called we had no interview date yet either. So here's to our weekly call on Friday and hoping for good news lol.

James and I worried about being penalized for complaining to Montreal and requesting to be transferred to Vancouver (we kept sending CC to Vancouver all along). And especially since after they transferred us and even during the 'complaining time' - Vancouver never responded to any of our emails (and there were a few). Once we knew we were officially transferred, their silenced continued on. We emailed and eventually even faxed them, and still nothing. I thought for sure they were going to make us be sorry, but thank God I was wrong. Once they emailed us, it was to let us know of the interview and just now they are starting to email us the answers to all our other questions. So I am sure they will not penalize anyone for calling since they didn't do it to us for officially complaining. Staying polite and diplomatic is always a good policy.

Stopping in to read a magazine and take a number.

:pop:

We got our packet 3 today and mailed it back 3 hrs later. It was quite a frenzy over here. It's funny we race to do things when we know we're going to be sitting in the waiting room for what will seem like foreeeeeeeeeeeever. I paid for that Priority Courier, ha ha I think it is a joke really. I can't imagine in my wildest dreams that Canada Post will actually get it to Montreal in "one business day". I'm a dreamer...

Hang in there Leafgal. My fiancee is calling again next Friday. I might email on Monday and ask a general question, but a legit one bout the I-134. At least your hearing something instead of the "I don't know because I'm a mean lady" response.

I remember her cause I too spoke with her, shining personality she has. I hope she isn't the one who does the interviewing  Yes I told my fiance we will give it a few more weeks now before calling maybe we are just calling to much I don't know. Just hard the waiting, I mean I don't care (well I do) but even if it had to be in January if I knew that I would feel so much better. We want to plan for me to go down there for US Thanksgiving, but I don't want to do that if I am going to have an interview the first week of December, I would rather wait as I am leaving very soon after the interview. It would just be nice to know if it is going to be late December or January then great I want to go for Thanksgiving as it has been since mid August since we have seen each other and honestly I thought it would all be done by the end of November, that was wishful thinking eh  Oh well maybe next week there will be mail for us all, as no one got anything this week. Good luck to you guys too, good luck to everyone.

I know what you mean. The hardest part is not knowing anything. Ashley and I had a real peace about the situation once we decided we'll take any date instead of what we wanted. I was just there in September and it was hard(as usual) to say goodbye because we don't see an end in sight. I'm visiting in December, which was going to be for our honeymoon, but we're hoping we'll be able to Montreal together. Maybe your interview will be the same as hers and we'll bump into each other. As I've mentioned before, you are allowed to request a date, but there aren't any guarantees.

I was just curious, how did you find out about being able to request a date? I didn't read it in the info... Not that we wouldn't all request an "asap"!!

Yes I waver John between saying I am not going to think about it and say it will be January or February, and then other days it is driving me crazy with all the balls in the air. I am able to keep my job but likely only till the end of November and I don't want to have to get a new one for a few month but I will if I have to, but that with waiting for interview and not knowing when and packing to get ready to move, finding a truck to move it just gets overwhelming sometimes. But hey I am a Leaf fan I know disappointment well  but maybe we will both hear next week as we are very close in dates, and for sure it would be great to meet if we get lucky and are in Montreal at the same time I know I will be there for at least a couple of nights and I am looking forward to that, wish it was a nicer time of year though.

Here you go:

She then asked if she could request a date. The guy said she can, but he can't promise anything.

Riviting, I know. :) She just gave it a shot. It was the mean lady who yelled at her before with the "We don't accomodate you, you accomodate us."
