Montreal Interview Waiting Room Thread

Looking back over this past year, I can't believe I thought the whole K3 process would take 4 to 6 months. What was I smoking?

If the interview doesn't come until January, it will be 10 months. That's 10 months of anxiety, beer, IMBRA, grey hairs, taking a job I hate so I can be a sponsor, and did I mention being celibate for the first year of marriage?!

I've tried to keep a lid on my emotions, light my candles, and say my prayers. But #######? I'm about ready to snap. And you know what that means. Pass the chocolate cake. Yeah, the whole damn thing.

I cannot believe you have not gone positively postal yet. I think you deserve to rant a little ... and have a cheesecake on top of that chocolate cake.

Life in MTl sure has slowed down. Took us 6 months from start to finish for our cr-1 in 2004. Hopefully it will pick up speed again.

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

It doesn't necessarily take that long for CR1/IR1. We'll only be waiting for just over 2 months.

Hope all of the K1s and K3s get their interview dates soon!

NVC sets the schedules for cr-1, so they might tel you if you call them. Some operators at NVC will give that info out, some wont. I found out by calling them.

Hey folks, just got off the phone with Montreal. The woman told me something completely different than my fiancee or I heard before, which is also different than what all of you have heard. The lady said they are booking for December, and that people from MAy are still waiting, like the girl who the woman spoke with just before me. She suggested not going along with any plans until we have the interview/visa, blah, blah blah. I even asked about my fiancee and I hearing different things(and bilssgirl...congrats again) but she repeated what she said about booking people from May. I guess I'll have a snack while I wait.

In other news, I have peace about things, so that's good.
