Maybe things have changed since when I filled out the I-129F and accompanying documents three years ago, but I never understood why people are mailing stuff to foreign countries to begin with. I never mailed anything down to Peru during the process. I filled out the forms on my computer, my wife (then fiancee) printed them out from her email, signed them, and then mailed them to me so that I could sign them and send them to USCIS from the United States. What is it about the process that now requires you to actually mail a bunch of stuff overseas? Pardon my ignorance about this.

I think its because for most of us USC we prepared the initial evidence to file. No one knows our evidence like we do. We may have said "He babe I am including all our emails for 2009". But most of our love ones are probably in places where they would have to go to web cafe to print or something. We have Staples, Office Depot.

And frankly on interview day we want them prepared and know everything. A friend of mine had a question at his interview this week about a cousin that he forgot about in his K1 interview last year so this time the CO asked about same cousin that was mentioned in one email. It pays to keep our love ones informed. There should be no surprises because they weren't prepared.

I was in such a dang rush to get our petition filed I didn't even make copies for me or him. So I am doing that now. Thank God for USB flash drives.

what did you guys used? i'm sending mine to the PHILIPPINES? what's better? any pro's and con's you guys experienced?

You don't need to mail the K1 packet. Just e-mail and have her print it out. The only thing she will need is your I-134 with your original signature. The supporting I-134 docs such as IRS transcripts, W2's, paychecks stubs, etc can also be e-mailed to her to print out. She should print out pictures, paspports with stamps, bring any moneygram receipts, e-mails, call history, etc.. along with what is stated in the K1 interview packet from the U.S. Embassy Manila. Don't waste money sending documents that she can just print out. At this stage the I-134 with your original signature is the only document with and original signature that is needed. Send that to her by whatever carrier and it should be that exensive. Good luck.

Easier said than done. One way or another, someone is paying for it, and everyone doesn't have the luxury of their own printers. Everyone's situation is different. Sure, there are different ways to retrieve the information, but it's more than likely going to cost money. I prefer my fiancee to have the packet exactly the way I made it and not have her pay to print it out. It is around 150 pages, maybe more. It might be cheaper for her to print than for me to send, but she has enough to do with the other preparations. To me, it would just be easier and smoother to send the packet along with the other things she needs from the petitioner. There is nothing cheap about this process.

Good luck. I don't see where 150 pages is needed, but it is up to you. The Embassy will have everything they need that you filed when you first sent your petition in. All they really need it what is stated in the K1 interview packet that is on the U.S. Embassy website. Like I stated your original signature on your I-134 is important. I have attended and been to an actual interview at the Embassy back in 2010 and all they asked for from my fiancee at the time was what was in the K1 interview packet, NBI clearance, NSO birth certificate, a few pictures, cards, email, moneygrams, etc... No where close to 150 pages. Take care. I wish you well.

HI Frank,

I sent my stuff stuff from Hawaii to a company called Johnny Air. It works great If there is an office near you and an office near your fiancee. It cost much less. About $25.00. total. The company had the package in hand from one office to their Philippine office and my fiancee picked it up at their storefront in the Philippines. No Postal service or UPS involved and I knew where the packet was always.

They did not have an office in Hawaii so I just mailed it registered mail USPS to them from here to them and then they took it from there.

It only took about 4 days once they sent it out on a Monday.

Check their website for location is US and the Philippines http://www.johnnyair.com/?page=65 and see if it might work for you. Good luck........ Paul

Thanks for the support. I think you missed my point about sending though. I didn't say 150 pages is needed. That is the size of the petition. Hence, there is alot of information there my fiancee needs to be aware of. I stated in an earlier post it was just best to prepare the fiancee with what is going to be sitting in front of the CO at time of interview. Every case is different. That is great nothing was asked of you from your petition. However, it is not uncommon for a question to be asked referring to what is presented in the petition. Not prepared means not being able to answer. My petition is larger than some because I frontloaded. The CO could very well ask my fiancee anything about any of the evidence I sent. It wouldn't make sense for her to not have that information. Again, it is suggested in the guides for the fiancee to have a copy of the petition along with the things you stated. To each, his or her own though. If one doesn't think it is worth the expense to send a petition to their SO, so be it.

Good luck. My fiancee has everything she needs because I visited her a second time since CSC is taking their sweet time. Let me know how things turn out. I hope the interview goes smoothly and your fiancee is on her way to you soon.

The copy of the I129-F sent to beneficiary for interview is for the benefit of the beneficiary. The CO has the petition packet. To me, the rationale is being prepared. The CO is going to ask questions based on what you submit and maybe then some. What happens when your significant other is asked a particular question about, say, an email or photograph that you included in evidence and doesn't have a copy of his/her own? She/he will be lost. One way or another, the beneficiary needs to know what is in the packet that the CO is looking at as your beloved is being grilled. As far as your other documents go, I wouldn't send a photocopy of employment letter and tax forms. Not sure how it goes at that stage yet. My understanding was they wanted original evidence to support the income requirement. I could be wrong, but I am not risking it either way. Transcripts are cheap. Original employer signatures make sense too.

    true! cause I myself was surprised when my fiance now husband sent me the whole copy of the petition that there are information I didnt know about, it helps me a lot to be familiar, knowleadgeable and be prepared for the possible questions at the interview.
