I know the average wait time from when we receive the NOA2 (for K1) to when the NVC receives it is 2 weeks or 15 days... Is there ANY way we can make this wait shorter?

PS: I expedited my NOA2

Jan 5, 2012: Mailed I-129F

Jan 7, 2012: Received

Jan 10, 2012: Text and e-mail confirmation received

Jan 14, 2012: NOA1 received in the mail

Mar 29, 2012: Expedite request made

Apr 5, 2012: Expedite request approved

Apr 6, 2012: I-129F approved!

Apr 11, 2012: NVC received

Try calling them to find out for approval before sitting around waiting. I called to just check to make sure they got my petition only to be informed that it was already on the way to the embassy. Recieved the notification about a week and half after that. So I was able to get things together and to her so she could set up her interview by the time snail mail arrived to her

I don't think there is an expedite option from getting the case to NVC. And, accoridnging to NVC, and everytime I called; they have 15 BUSINESS days to receive a case. I know it's hard to wait but unfortunately that's what you have to do. It was hard for me...as I was calling every day until I received our new case number (See Timeline). I even emailed NVCInquiry@state.gov and scanned a copy of the I-797 approval to NVCResearch@state.gov after my 15 business days were up. I still haven't received an answer from doing this, but nonetheless I have the new case number. So, I suggest, wait a little bit longer, call daily, and if it's still not in their system after 15 BUSINESS days email your scanned I-797 approval.

You can only expedite a case once you have been assigned a case number. The person who the CR1 visa is for needs to apply for the expedite. You need to email a supervisor and they will decide whether or not an expedite is warranted in your case. I was advised this by the NVC as myself and my husband are hoping to expedite our case as we were in the process of doing so at USCIS but our case was approved before they could approve it.

Until you have the case number....you may just need to hang in there and call until they assign one :)

I love my husband!!

I-130 sent - 9/5/2011

NOA 1 received and routed to CSC - 9/22/2011

Expedite Request sent - 02/24/2012

NOA 2 - 03/21/2012 (without need for expedite)

NVC Receive - 04/09/2012

Case Number Assigned -
