Changing Address While I-130 Pending...

Hello friends,

I am the petitioner for my wife, but the I-130 has not yet been approved. I'm considering moving to a new apartment before my wifey gets here. I obviously know there is a protocol in place to inform USCIS of an address change.

My questions are:

1. Will this further delay our processing?

2. Is it acceptable to just forward all mail to the new address and then make the change later?

3. What if the I-130 gets approved before I potentially move out, do I still need to inform them of the change?

2. Is it acceptable to just forward all mail to the new address and then make the change later? FIRST: If you move before you receive the notice, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283 and give them the New address, Second: forward mail to new address!

3. What if the I-130 gets approved before I potentially move out, do I still need to inform them of the change? Call customer service at 1-800-375-5283 and give them the New address!

Or make a in person appointment here for your nearby USCIS office for them to update your address!

It wont delay the processing, I also moved to a new address while the petition is still at USCIS stage. Just make sure you go to USCIS website and update the address.

2. Have mail forwarded anyway. I believe USPS forwards mail up to 6 months for temporary forward, and 1 year for permanent. I submitted a change of address form a couple months ago, and they still haven't updated it.

3. Yes. My I-130 just got approved, and address was not updated in time. If somehow they don't process the change after your I-130 gets approved, I was advised to call USCIS to request a service request, if within 30 days I still didn't get confirmation of address change.
