Yeah, it sounds great in theory. My problem is not being able to maintain that bit of aloofness necessary to 'play the field'! I couldn't do it when I was in high school and college and I can't do it now. I am sure that for some it might work but then you also need to consider the feelings of your 'dates'. Would your Alla have tolerated such an arrangement? I suspect that most women worth marrying have too much pride or self-respect to put up with that. All I know is that I felt like a heel doing it and would not try to set up something like that again. One possible way to meet multiple women might be one of those tours where you can correspond with and pre-select dates prior to the trip. That might also be a problem for some. Anybody on here try that route?

I saw a documentary about some of those guys going from town to town on what amounted to a sex tour. Looked cool but seemed spendy to me. It's too easy to go to a cafe or club and get one there.

True, but they do. And with the economic downturn in Donetsk for the past few years (it is getting a bit better now) there were a LOT of prostitutes. Alla was quite disappointed but says she has seen it before, when the economy gets bad the girls come out to sell their wares, or rent them is more correct. Mostly girls from the villages outside of town where they had depedned heavily on the mines and steel mills, some of which were shut down for a while. I cannot say they make a lot of money, I would think it would be difficult. Much too easy and cheap to get other women. There were some in Odessa also but ther customers were largely merchant seamen in town for one or two days who did not want to bother with the whole, dinner/club/sex thing.

I used to run into them at the Irish Pub in Odessa. Usually Americans, sometimes Brits or Aussies, but the guys there purely for sex were nearly always Americans. The Brits and Aussies tended to be contractors working there or sailors.

The purely "sex tourist" type was not welcome with the girls looking for husbands as you can imagine. Some real jerks. They paid a fortune (or so it seemed) for their tours. I wonder how many guys go on TWO of those? It would pretty soon occur to me that I could do this a LOT cheaper all by myself and you hardly need a "guide" to find women.

y landlord was an Aussie that had lived in Seatlle for 20 years and then moved to Ukraine and was running an apartment rental operation and a marriage agency. I think the marriage agency folded in 2009. The two businesses worked well together.
