Depends on the totality of circumstances. Current income is the key to sponsor qualification. The past is just informational.

would my husbands aunt need transcripts or W2's? she is saying she has W2s for a paystub? Im kind of confused on this, I dont think she gets paid hourly as she is a teacher.

For the PAST, she needs complete tax returns including W2 forms OR tax return transcripts. For current income, she needs an employer letter or pay stub. Don't confuse the past with the present. W2 is always PAST.
