Need advise from those who have filed AOS in the state of Texas. Did you use a Civil Surgeon? I am up in the air on this. I read a post about it but can't seem to find it now that it is time to file. I don't want to get an RFE but if I can get by without doing it then I will not bother. HELP!!!!!!

I am going through the same process this week and I have made the same postings as you last week. If the overseas medical exam is less than a year old and all required vaccinations occurred before or at that medical exam a new one is not needed as long as you include the DS-3025 with all the vaccines listed. I was advised by Diana to include the instructions for the medical that state the reasons why a medical would be required when the other medical exam is less than a year old. This is no guarantee of not getting an RFE as that can always happen.

I filed for AOS in January, we got green card last week. Judy had shots during her medical in Philippines. You should have a copy of the shots that were given. As long as you had all the required shots, no need for the civil surgeon. some shots are not required because they are not age appropriate. (shots that babies or children would get) Some shots won't have a check mark next to them because 3 shots were combined in one, I think MMR, measles mumps rubella.

Some of the posts here suggested it was better to have a civil surgeon review it. I was too lazy and stingy. I figured at this stage an RFE is no big deal, Judy is already here, If they send me RFE Ill just take care of it then, They did not give RFE, I was also expecting an interview but they just mailed us the green card. Someone said it's because she was just interviewed before coming over here.

the green card expires in 2 years and they are supposed to do an interview at that time.
