Well, other than a missing CENOMAR / Advisory of Marriage form, all our other papers were apparently accepted and seemed complete. I would like some feedback from the group concerning possible outcomes at this point. I understand if they have an issue with a document or an issue in general, they call the applicant. Otherwise, they send a text message to announce the pending shipment of the visa using their courier service ("2Go"?). If, for some reason, they have an issue with our case, when might we find out about it? Would it normally happen in a matter of days, or perhaps might it take longer? If there is an issue, do they request an RFE or is the issue typically handled differently? If we were "pre-approved" by the NVC (whatever that means), does that weigh in our favor and reduce the chances any for potential denial? We've been married since 2009 and have ample proof of relationship materials and documents. My ex wife unfortunately tried to bad mouth my wife and sent some hostile emails to the Embassy - they did broach that topic with my wife, but it's not clear if that will effect us or not....interestingly, the interviewer asked my wife how far away she will live from my ex. I'm not sure what the rationale is exactly for that question. Worst case, is the appeals process as slow and painful as it seems to be indicated as on some of these forum posts? Thanks.

Did the Consulate keep her passport?

Did you get a 221G form requesting additional documents or evidence?

Did you send or deliver the CENOMAR to USEM already?

From what I read. It seems like a straight forward request for a missing document/additional documents (CENOMAR). It can take a few days to a few weeks. All depends on the workload of the consulate and how long it takes for them to receive the requested document to be receive and reviewed. Only thing you can do is call the USEM to check on the status of the Visa petition.

If others have been in the same situation. Chime in to give a estimate wait time, issues and delivery of Visa.

Also GOD Bless and Good Luck!!

Hi, yes they did keep her passport. No to the 221G. Cenomar delivered 2 days ago, supposedly to be picked up by embassy by next Monday...

Did the embassy say you were approved?

No. They just asked that we supply them with the missing Cenomar. The parting words form the interviewer to my wife after she was done was a "good luck".

Real simple, as soon as they get around to reviewing the CENOMAR -- a consular officer will approve the visa. Most likely you will not hear one word from USEM -- 2Go will just show up at her door with the visa.

Thanks for the reply Leatherneck; my father was a marine during the Korean war. The wife and I are concerned because the interviewer asked her personal questions regarding my ex wife, who is your typical bitter, jealous and very evil ex and decided to email the manila fraud unit a bunch of garbage about my wife's supposed occupation, character, etc.

I have the utmost respect for the Marines, soldiers, sailors and airmen that served in that awesome war. Most folks have no idea of the sheer craziness of what happened at, and the escape from the Chosin reservior.

Trust me, I understand how vindictive an ex can be. As soon as they are satisfied with the documents requested -- your wife will get her visa. I can assure you, that call from your ex-wife was not the first they've received -- they too understand what vindictive ex-wives are capable of. You and your wife will get through this with a visa in hand.

I know Filipinas -- your wife is probably worried about it. A big Semper Fi to your father.

Haha...Well, it would be funny if it weren't so real; its really disturbing how easy it is for anyone to craft something and send it off to an email address. It's quite unfair, why should my wife have to contend with accusations from my ex when the ex represents neither judge or jury and anything she says must be viewed in the context of an extremely biased party? In fact, I'm seriously wondering whether I can sue her for character defamation. On the outside chance, as low as it may be, if my ex interferes with an immigration process using false information, my guess is that is grounds for some kind of legal recourse or lawsuit.
