I-129F Fee payable by a family member?

Good evening all. I was curious as to know if the I-129F fee can be paid for by a family member via personal check.

I have none of my own personal checks with me and no means to purchase a money order.

If it is possible should it be noted that it is the fee for my application?

Your are sending a petition, not an application. It is not necessary to note that it is a petition fee as long as the amount is correct and the check properly made out (i.e. write out US Department of Homeland Security, no abbreviations).

No notation is necessary. You would not get an RFE for not making a notation on a check what the check was for. The lockbox facility will know what the check is for because they will see what form is being filed and automatically know the proper fee.
