Good day everyone! We are having the AOS interview in Centennial, Colorado at the beginning of April. I would like to ask people from CO to share their experiences of AOS interviews here. Is there anything to worry about? What questions were you asked? I read so many horror stories (which wasn't probably a smart idea, well, just wanted to be prepared for everything) and now I'm a bit scared :help: . Did everyone have mostly positive experience? i just want it to be over  and live my life with my husband and worry about other stuff. Thanks in advance!

HEY I'M NOT FROM COLORADO BUT I DO HAVE SOME EXPERIENCED ON THIS BASIS SINCE MY MOM, MY STEPH SIS, AND MYSELF ARE GOING THROW THIS PROCESS. I FEEL LIKE IT ALL DEPENDS ON HOW WELL PREPARE ARE YOU, WITH ALL DOCUMENTS ON LINE, AND YOUR CONFIDENCE ON THE DAY OF THE INTERVIEW, FROM A PERSONAL PERSPECTIVE MY INTERVIEW WAS REALLY EASY SINCE I HAD ALL DOCUMENTATION TO PROVE THAT MY MARRIAGE IS REAL, BUT AT THE SAME TIME MY MOM WAS VERY WELL PREPARED AND HER INTERVIEW WAS ROUGHT, I TOOK HER AND MY STEPTHDAD TO THE INTERVIEW ON THAT DAY, SAME OFFICE I WENT TO BUT DIFFERENT OFFICER, I WAITED OUT FOR THEM BUT FOR MY SURPRISE I WAS CALLED TO TESTIFY ON THIER INTERVIEW  THEY ASK ME THEIR PERSONAL INFO SINCE I LIVED WITH THEM BEFORE I GOT MARRIED. JUST BE WELL PREPARED AND CONFIDENT ON THE DAY OF THE INTERVIEW, TRY NOT TO STRESS IT; I KNOW IS HARD BUT YOU WILL BE FINE.

thanks! u r right, the most important thing is to be prepared, which worries me too. we don't have enough proof of bona fide marriage

Posted (edited)

that's what we have:

1. Internet bills with my name on them

2. Pictures with our families, wedding pics etc

3. Marriage sertificate

4. Phone bills (we have family plan)

thats it

It is expected that newly weds do not have much shared information-- do you live together? Lease/Mortgage or even separate mail that comes to the same house? Gym membership in both names? Car payments? Joint Insurance (Auto/medical/life)?

If you are really worried, then get your in-laws to write some affidavits.

I posted our experience about te Denver AOS interview in our timeline or you can read other's stories here. We had a joint tax return and all the benefit information about me adding my wife to my employer's benefit package and our marriage certificate. Nothing esle. Interview was easy and quick. She did keep another copy of the marriage certificate so I recommend taking the original and another copy.

Good luck,

Dave

I know one thing, documents does matter, but what matter the most is how well you know your partner.

One should thoroughly know about his/her life style, hobbies, likes and dislikes, one should be well versed with his/her surroundings, accommodations.

If one knows about other....then whether AOS or STOKES wont be able to shake your relationship.
