So I've been looking at peoples timelines and noticed many of them have received the visa within only 5 months!? Does this really happen often? Thought it would be longer.

03/27/12: Petition I-129F sent

03/30/12: USCIS Received petition

04/06/12: NOA1 received in the mail

Received the visa or petition approved? If 5 months from sending in I-129F to interview/ visa then it is unusual, but not unheard of. Depends on your country too.

I thought that too!! But I think it's just the time from the NOA1 to the NOA2 usually. Once the NOA2 has been issued, apparently it tends to move a lot faster then! I think from start to finish it seems to only take around 8 months give or take a few (and assuming there are no RFEs)

Yeah, received. I've seen a few timelines that showed the dates and it had a 5 month gap. More than one person had that showing. Lucky I say!

What part are you up to? My fiance just got my documents yesterday. She's going to send the petition off tomorrow. Our journey has just begun :P

My fiancee got the NOA1 letter today, saying that they received and opened the forms on Sunday (2 days ago), so I'm just at the start too!
