I am going to try to sort out all my drivers license / registration / insurance this week for my suv...i am now in Columbus, Ohio (from Canada)...does anyone know if I will have to redo all driving tests or if they will transfer my G class license to an Ohio license???

Not sure what G-class is, but I had to re-do everything having drivers license for ~15 years (which actually almost lead me to failure cause I told my wife I absolutely do not have practice anything and do not need any advice either - ended with 15 points for improperly observing stop signs 3 times :) )

I checked your timeline and notice that you've just got here this month, welcome to OH :) not sure if I can help you or not. I'm currently living in Ohio right now and went to BMV trying to get a license when I got here past Nov, but then they advise me to wait for my greencard before I can get one..hopefully it'll get approved this month. Though it's not too bad since my license from other country is still valid here for a year as per BMV. So I think best way to know is to call BMV and ask maybe they can put license plate in ur SUV...or not. And who knows they might let you get a license, goodluck and keep us posted. ?
