Finally a silver lining in this process. I called last week to get my husband's I 130 expedited and actually got it. I requested an expedite based on medical reasons and financial loss. At first, they sent a letter stating they couldn't make a decision based on lack of info. My doctor was really nice enough to write a detailed letter explaining my situation.:)

The irony is that with all the wait time, I should have gotten my NOA 2 within a few weeks anyways ( that's assuming noa2 is sent exactly by the 5 month estimate)

I explained to them that my financial loss was due to the medical problems. I can't work right now and I have a long recovery period ahead of me ( my doc wrote about my work limitations) and the exorbitant hospital bills are a financial strain. So I explained on the phone that I was also in a significant financial bind.

You will have to ask for an expedite at each agency

So call NVC everyday and as soon as you get the NVC number and give them BOTH your emails then you tell them you have an expedite approved from USCIS.

They take your information and send it to the embassy to see if they'll approve it also

If they refuse (MOST the time Cairo refuses) then you bypass the fees at NVC and you get to supply the embassy with the fees and all the paperwork

If embassy approved NVC expedite then it gets forwarded to the embassy

and you have to request an expedited interview at the embassy

But start planning on staying at NVC and having the embassy deny your expedite. So make sure you get your Invoice Identification Number and Case number and Give your emails when NVC has them

and Just start emailing the G-3032 agent of choice

and then pay the fee for AOS or I-864 and if that shows paid-send the AOS forms

the next day or so pay the IV fee or the Ds-230 fee and the next day print off the bar coded paid sheet and send the IV packet

and by then maybe the embassy will have an answer to your expedite

so do not waste days waiting for embassy to approve or deny it. Just act like they will deny it so you can get more done while waiting

good luck
