Hello everyone,

Has anyone asked them to let you keep it during your interview?

The week when I am going to have my interview is gonna be busy in my job because it is gonna be the middle of the important project. Thus, I want to continue working there.

Thank you for your time!

Hmm well my EAD didn't get taken away and the gc comes literally like 7-10 days after your interview my interview was on a Tuesday I got my gc the following Thursday.

However if your concerned if the IO wants to take away I'd simply (politely of course) explain your situation to the IO and say u have a job. He'll maybe say that the card doesn't matter or further explain what to do. I say it worth a try to voice your concern the worse they can say is they have to take it away.. But like I say gc is priority mail it'll be in your hands in a week. Don't sweat it buddy

She asked to see it and gave it back. If they have to keep it for some reason, just ask what you should do in the mean time. Good luck!

What's behind u not wanting to visit the UK/home country?

I'm still trying to convince my beloved to let's take a quick flight up North ~ Canada. On the side, the heat down South is soooo unbearable and miserable. Thus, thank God for sunshine.

Where are you thinking of visiting in Canada? Careful! It's north but it can be hot and humid due to long summer days and the amount of lakes and rain of late (relative but still if you are looking for a break from the heat...)

Question! I still didnt get the HARDCOPIES of the aproval of I 130 OR THE welcome letter for the I 485... BUT TODAY I saw the status on the website and it says this:

The USPS reported that they picked up mail from USCIS containing your new card on June 27, 2012. You should receive your new card within 7 days. If you do not, or if you move before you get it, please call our customer service at 1-800-375-5283.

Soooo... is it possible to get the GC without the other 2 hardcopies of aproval ????? Or should i get the other 2 letters first before the gc?????

It is possible that your GC comes first. You will be getting it in a day or two. It is also possible that the hardcopies arrive before that. Moral of the story: anything goes, as long as you get them all, just keep celebrating!

Thanks for your comment. As you said, I should try to explain my situation during my interview. Yeah, I will. Maybe I should talk to my company before going to my interview.

If I do not have a job or not in the middle of the project, I would not mind waiting for 7 to 10 days to get GC without working. I would be even happy to wait for ittongue.gif

I would feel like I do not have deal with this painful process for a while and I would be so happy about that; however it is just a bad timing for my job if I cannot work.

I hope I can continue working during waiting for GC!

I've always been curious about a replacement I-94 (obtained by filing an I-102).

Is it a complete copy of the original that was issued to you, or is it just a new I-94 containing the same information as the original did?

Replacement I-94 is not a complete copy of the original. The approval notice for replacement I-94 has a new I-94 at the botomm of the page.

It has your name, visa type, entry date. It doesn't have your A number listed on the card. The notice has your A number.

01/28/12 Mailed I-130, I-485, I-102, I-131, I-765
04/18/12 Biometrics done in Philadelphia

Anything is possible when dealing with the USCIS, if your GC has been picked up by the USPS then you should have it in your mailbox within the next few days, so you very well could receive the GC before the approval notices :)

I have a question regarding our Interview next month. I served in the army in my home country. Should I provide some documents regarding this service in the Interview? Would they even bother to ask for any ?

Post this question in the general AOS forum because there's a very slim chance that someone reading this particular topic would have an answer. My guess is that you don't have to mention past occupation if it's older than five years...

Sorry for the wrong answer. I realize that the I-485 form, Part 3, section C, asks to list any military service since your 16th birthday

Day_01 05/05 AOS Package delivered (I-130,I-485,I-765).

Day_31 06/05 Biometrics done.

Day_46 06/20 Interview Notification

Day_79 07/23 Interview. Approved.

Day_86 07/30 Received GC and EAD
