(K-1)

I will more then likely need a sponsor. Do I the U.S. Petitioner fill out the I-134 Affidavit? or Does my mom do that to be a sponsor? Or would that be another form? I wanted to know if providing my information like stubs and financial letters (taxes) with my own form & as well have my mom fill out one and her financial documents helpful or necessary? I'm working part-time and by the time they request that information full-time with the same job for over a year now just had to take leave b/c of my father passing... but my taxes more then likely will not reflect the income necessary to qualify as a sponsor... Does anyone know how much you have to make a year or how they base sponsorship qualifications? So if I know I don't make enough do I just skip the I-134 and have the sponsor my mom do that only (I-134)?

You can also prove your income level with an employment letter and copies of your earning statements/pay stubs. The K-1 requirement is 100 percent of the poverty guideline not 125 percent which you will need when you adjust status after the marriage. Whoever will sponsor is normally the one to fill out the form. The only papers that need notarization are statements from family confirming the relationship.

Good luck,

You should ask in the MENA forum (http://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/97-middle-east-and-north-africa/) so others that went through Casablanca can tell you for sure, but I have read quite a few posts on here that they require the I-864 instead of the I-134. Some people even took both to be sure.

The above post is not correct. Most consulates require 125% of the poverty level for K-1 visa applicants, as they will need that amount when they adjust status in the US. If Casa requires the I-864, then for sure they will be asking for at least 125%, but as I said, most consulates, even when using the I-134, require 125%. Here are the current poverty level guidelines: http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/i-864p.pdf

You are the primary sponsor, no matter what your income is. You cannot skip filling out the form. You will both have to fill out your own separate affidavit form, and provide a letter from employer stating position and salary, last 3 years tax transcripts(could just be the most recent tax year, but others that gone through Casa can tell you this for sure too), free from the IRS(or complete copy of return with all forms and schedules plus W-2s and/or 1099s), and a few months worth of your most recent pay stubs. Your co-sponsor also needs to provide proof of being a USC or LPR. Here are the I-864 instructions: http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/i-864instr.pdf

Good luck,

 Haven't heard of any embassy going with 100%.
