Multiple Errors With USCIS

I can't understand what is happening at the USCIS office. I've been waiting on an RFE letter since I received the email that initial evidence was needed. I called last week Friday and was told to wait for 14 days before calling back. Today I called and spoke with someone who reconfirmed my address, telephone number and email address and told me that I will be receiving an email within 3 days with the RFE information. I told her that I'm a part of a group that is going through the immigration process and many members have reported that immigration is messing up by not doing their work properly. I even told her that I believe they did not mail my RFE letter and I believe that they are going to send me an email stating that the letter was undeliverable like they have been doing with other members in the group. About an hour later, I received this email below. It states that the case status is in the initial Review instead of RFE. Biometics is akready done so this is confusing. Ive already received the NOA1 early this month.. Someone is not doing their job

Don't pay attention to the to last parts, they're connected to that blue dot(Initial review) and gives you standard basic non-sensitive info. It's the first couple of sentences that are important. I agree with Inky - a tier 2 knows more about your specific case. If that doesn't work and you're still not receiving anything in the mail, make an infopass appointment.

Thank you for responding. I called this morning and someone else took the same information that was taken yesterday and told me the same thing that I was told yesterday. They said that they are sending the information to the office to which my case is assigned and gave me a reference number. They also told me that if I do not get a response withing 14 days to call again; however, the RFE will still have the same deadline as the one that was "returned" as undeliverable. I asked them why should I be penalized for a so-call undelivered mail when it is obvious that it was never sent? I practically live across from the post office. I found it strange when I received the email at 7:15 on February 11 stating that the letter was mailed out today. It was 7:15am. Who gets up to go to the post office at 7:15am when it is closed? That was definitely an automatically generated email. Anyway, I am waiting to see if I will get the mail by this weekend or Monday the latest. I repeated the same address and contact information that they already have on file because there was nothing to update. This is absurd!

I just spoke with whomever I was queued to speak with based on how long I was holding. How do I get to a tier 2 officer? By requesting to speak with one, or is there a prompt that takes me directly to one?

Yes, you can request to speak to/be transferred to a tier 2 with more information than what a tier 1 can provide.

Don't take the updates to literally. If they forgot to update your status/scan barcode the day before, they'll update it online the next day.

Definitely make an infopass appointment if it takes more than a month in total to receive the RFE when you don't know when it's due to be submitted. A maximum of 12 weeks would be response time but some get less depending on the RFE. I haven't seen how they officially determine the length of RFE response time.

I'm suggesting an infopass appointment to be on the safe side - you can always cancel it if your end up getting the RFE in the mail. If they don't receive your response, they'll adjucate the AOS as it is without the additional evidence which may cause a denial.

Ask for a tier 2 person or a supervisor. That will be an immigration officer. The person who answers the phone is a call center employee. If they refuse, call back and speak to someone else and keep asking until you get transferred.

i had the same undeliverable notice, which messed up my whole AOS process. my case was closed and they admitted that it was a mistake, but they r still deciding if they can open it. and the money, nerves (a loot) and time are gone. this customer service is USELESS! i hope everything will be all right with your case! patience to everyone who is waiting!

Just came off the phone with a tier 2 Officer and found out that the RFE was a mistake. It was meant for someone else but was sent to my email in error because the MSC receipt numbers were close. I thought that the RFE carried a different receipt number, but was told that the RFE would have had the same number as the I-485. She said the person's name on that receipt did not correspond with my son'rs and any document we receive has to have our correct receipt number. I guess that was why it was not delivered to the person who will now have no clue that their information was undeliverable because it was erroneously linked with my address and email. She went through all our information and appointments and told us we have no RFE.
