I added this to a previous post I made, but it's a whole other topic so I'll make a new post.

I'm the beneficiary, my wife in the US filed an I-130 for me 3 weeks ago.

To the best of both our knowledge, everything was done correctly and filled out correctly. I just recently went through all my old immigration documents (I've previously held both a J-1 and two F-1 visas, plus an EAD card) while preparing for the NVC and consulate stage.

Then to my horror,

On my previous EAD card, I just now realized there is an A# number listed. Before I got married, I really didn't know much about these things and never really looked closely at the EAD card. It expired one year ago. My international student advisor at my university dealt with everything immigration related. Back then I didn't even know what an A# was. :bonk:

On both the I-130 petition, and my G-325A, my A# is listed as "None". As my pevious I-20 only lits a SEVIS nmber, no A#, I really did not have a clue that I was ever issued one. I erroneously thought those were for permanent residents, not for non-immigrants.

Now the question becomes.. We have a signed I-130 petition, with a supplemental G-325A at the CSC, both listing my A# as none. Here, I have an EAD card clearly listing my 9 digit A#.

What do I/my wife do?

No worries. This is a non-issue. On remaining forms that ask for the A number, enter it.

I too was on OPT and had an "A" number and did not list it. Upon the interview, they asked me why I didn't list it and I said that I actually didn't realize it was on the card, I showed them the card and they made a note and moved on.

They already know you had permission to work, they already know you have an A number, I would, from personal experience, leave it alone (as sending anything to USCIS is an exercise in futility) and make any corrections on future forms

Good luck

Thank you Pushbrk and Canadian_wife. So I'm assuming anything related to "inconsistency" on this matter will just be cleared up at the interview?

It's always a great feeling when you know someone has been in the same situation as you :)
