Will the USCIS have information on when the NVC recieves my petition or when it will be sent to the Consulte? If not, will I be notified when these things happen? If not, how can I find out?

Thank you!

No notification will show up on the USCIS site because they are Homeland Security and NVC is State Department, 2 different systems.

You need to wait 2 weeks after getting NOA2 then call the NVC and enquire about status. Or you can email them.

http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/ty...types_1309.html

I called them 1 or 2 times a week for status, and also emailed them 1 time, the hold time on the phone is short, and email was quick, about 48 hours. The email also had our consulate case number.

When you email them, have names of petitioner, and beneficiary, USCIS case number, and DOB of beneficiary in the note, USCIS Case number in the header also helps.

waiting_4_tragedy,

I called everyday, but then I am an impatient sort.

After 8 or 9 days of calling and being advised to call back in a week or two, next day, the case was in the NVC hand.

It cannot hurt to call at least once per day, as you always get a different operator. More importantly, it does make you feel more active in your case.

Keep in mind that things have slowed a bit in NVC, so your reaction time may vary.

I'm very impatient too when it comes to my hunny being with me so I'll probably e-mail them and call them....They'll probably get so sick of me they'll hurry to get it out of their hands..hehe

Thank you both!

I would give it 2 weeks minimum before you start emailing them as it has been taking close to 4 weeks recently for cases to get to the NVC. Email to: NVCInquiry@state.gov and put your CSC case number in the subject line.

Good luck.

4 weeks???? :crying::crying:

I guess its quite laughable to think that NVC and the local embassies might hurry up a little to make up for the time we all lost with IMBRA. I really need to lower my expectations! :wacko:
