So our friends at the USCIS finally updated, and it's actually very depressing to see the development in I-130 processing from August - December.

It's becoming pretty clear how big the backlog at CSC really was/is.. I thought they had hit their peak backlog in November, turns out that by December, they still hadn't gotten to work on I-130s yet, and still kept receiving twice as many new petitions every month than they could complete!

In November, CSC:

- Received 18 300 new petitions.

- Completed 10 000 petitions.

- Had 103 500 pending petitions.

In December, CSC:

- Received 17 000 new petitions.

- Completed 8 700 petitions.

- Had 114 000 pending petitions.

I'll be adding some NOA1 - NOA2 wait numbers to the chart later tonight.

Maybe, but I'm only discussing I-130s at CSC.

Since the topic is germane to the progress of I-130 petitions, I have not moved it.

Our journey:

September 2007: Met online via social networking site (MySpace); began exchanging messages.
March 26, 2009: We become a couple!
September 10, 2009: Arrived for first meeting in-person!
June 17, 2010: Arrived for second in-person meeting and start of travel together to other areas of China!
June 21, 2010: Engaged!!!
September 1, 2010: Switched course from K1 to CR-1
December 8, 2010: Wedding date set; it will be on February 18, 2011!
February 9, 2011: Depart for China
February 11, 2011: Registered for marriage in Wuhan, officially married!!!
February 18, 2011: Wedding ceremony in Shiyan!!!
April 22, 2011: Mailed I-130 to Chicago
April 28, 2011: Received NOA1 via text/email, file routed to CSC (priority date April 25th)

Ok, I added the average wait times that August filers have waited. It's not completely accurate since all August petitions still aren't completed, I've tried to account for it by adding 2 weeks to average August processing times. It might end up slightly higher. Either way, it is clear that August filers haven't had substantially longer wait times than July filers, so it looks like even though the CSC had a backlog of 114,000 pending (!!!) petitions in December, they're doing something to try to reverse the fall backlog trend.

Again:

20,000 = 2 months

40,000 = 4 months

60,000 = 6 months

etc.

These numbers are based off of Igor's list and are not fully accurate. I have attempted to account for expedites by adding two weeks to the average wait times. For August numbers, I have added an extra two weeks on top to account for petitions which may still be pending.

We filed the I-130 on Dec 16, 2011 and it was approved May 18, 2012 (5 months) instead of the 4 months quoted for CSC.

CR1 / CR2 Visa:

(Day 1) 12/16/11: I-130 Application sent

(Day 283) 09/24/12: Interview at US Consulate – Approved!

(Day 287) 09/28/12: Visa Received & Immediately entered US using Visa

(Day 290) 10/01/12: Social Security Card sent automatically

Removal of Conditions CR1 / CR2
(Day 1) 07/28/14: Application sent.
(Day 135) 12/10/14: ROC Approved!
(Day 143) 12/18/14: 10 year GC received (IR1 / IR2)

Naturalization:
(Day 1) 06/30/15: Application sent.
(Day 210) 01/26/16: Interview and Oath Ceremony. DONE!

***Son and I became US Citizens 01/26/16***

(Day 1) 01/27/16: Applied for my U.S. Passport
(Day 14) 02/10/16: Passport Book & Cert of Naturalization received

(Day 1) 03/16/16: Applied for U.S. Passport for son

(Day 22) 04/07/16: Passport book and original docs received...(Card rec'd 04/16/16)

N-600 for child age 9
(Day 1) 01/27/16: Application sent

(Day 12) 02/08/16: NOA received

(Day 23) 02/19/16: Case received at local office

(Day 88) 04/23/16: In line for oath scheduling *Called USCIS to inquire about why there is an oath required for a child under 14. They sent a service request to the field office.

(Day 95) 04/30/16: Received letter from field office to say no oath necessary and that they would mail the certificate.
(Day 106) 05/11/16: Cert of Citizenship received by registered mail (they never sent tracking. case status was never updated either)
