I've had my I-864 completed now for a while just waiting to submit it when required. So of course the process is constantly going through my mind and now I'm wondering if I should be using the I-864EZ instead?

I've read the requirements but what is confusing me is the "Part 1 Line B". It states "I am using only my own earned or retirement income, which is documented using IRS Form W-2..

I do not receive any W-2 because I live, work, and filed for DCF here in Peru. I do file my US taxes but do not receive a W-2 like US employers give, I only recieve the tax document from my employer here in Peru.

Anybody have any thoughts or suggestions on which to use?

As per the instructions you quoted, you cannot use the EZ version for two (probably 2) reasons. First, your income is not documented on a W-2 form. Duh! Second, you are not actually likely to be using YOUR income to "qualify" as the sponsor. You can't be unless the income will continue from the same source once you return to the USA. If it won't, your qualified joint sponsor will also provide an I-864.

First: That's why I was asking. Wondered if others were able to use alternate income/tax documents other than a W-2. I'm sure this question has been raised previously and a search here did not show any results.

Second: Yes, my employment will continue from the same source once I move back to the states. That is not an issue and do not need a joint sponsor.

Regardless, I already have the I-864 completely filled out so no problem, just looking for less paperwork to submit.

No alternatives on the I-864EZ but do note that, if your income is sufficient and will continue, all the asset related questions can simply be left blank. See the word "OPTIONAL" at the top of that list of questions.

You WILL need to submit documentation that the income will continue though.

To be safe, I'd go with the I-864, it isn't that hard from the EZ version.

reg.ula.tion.me.ooow.2011 // tomcat.fight

to do list:
file i-130, petition for alien relative
get immigrant visa
get ssn card and green card
get employment authorization - not required
file I-751, petition to remove the conditions of residence (before 2nd year expires upon entry)
become a US citizen
