thx, guess it is different, depending on country.

You can schedule it yourself and you don't have to pay the VISA fee first in order to schedule. Just have your MNL number and answer all of the required information about you and your petitioner. Now you will have to get your medical done at Saint Lukes at least one week before the the interview and will have to pay the VISA fee also before the interview and bring proof of payment with you. Good luck.

sorry but that is incorrect. you have to pay first or else your passport number (which is your receipt number) will be invalid.

I don't think so. My fiancee was from the Philippines and we scheculed the Interview, she did the medical and then paid for her VISA fee before going tot he actual interview. I was with her at the interview so I know what I am talking about. Provide proof I am wrong or else don't comment any further. What I am saying is from experience because of course, I am the one who sent her the money for medical, VISA fees, etc.... They also don't take her passport until she goes to the medical. So she can schedule the interview, she will get an e-mail from the Embassy confirming her interview and it will include what the VISA fee, she can then pay the VISA fee and then go do her medical. At the point of the medical that is when her passprt is taken.

K-1/K-2 visa applicants, who have been notified by the Embassy to prepare for their interview, must pay the visa application fee before they can schedule a visa appointment via the online appointment website or the Visa Information and Appointment Service.

That information you provided is if you was to schedule the VISinterview at the Embbasy using the online system. We called the Embassy and scheduled the VISA interview appointment and the fee was paid after doing that and before going to the medical. It is possible for us to both be right based on how you schedule the interview. Done going back and forth with you now.

I filed a K1 Petition back in January 2010, received NOA1 on January 19, 2010, NOA2 on March 2, 2010, interview and VISA approval on May 24, 2010. Unfortunately she was a bad Filipina who used me and had a bad American brother-In-Law who interfered in our relationship. Her conditional green card expires on November 2, 2012. I already sent the divorce degree and supporting doucmunets and witness statement so it is a part of her immigration packet since she will have to appear before USCIS to attempt to remove her conditional status. I filed my second K1 that you see the timeline for with another Filipina I met through a freind. No family in the U.S. or meddling American Brother-In-Law to interfere this time and she is way better than my ex who was materialistic, selfish, a user and abuser of the K1 VISA process. Hope this clarifies the information you wanted to hear.
