Am a greedcard holder and am not a citizen yet.but i want my mum and sister to come visit me this chrismas,can someone plse help me thru the step by step document they should have,before the interview.thanks

they will need strong ties to there country, like a home, a job to come back to, a business, money for expenses in the us, bank account,loans,school,shoe health insurance travel,return air line tickets,it's hard but you may get lucky. go to your consulate apply for a b/2 visitor visa read the guides on visit to united states,

Yulisa, what Boiler is saying is that your mom and sister have to apply for themselves. There is nothing you can do to help. If you read through this section, you can see lots of examples of people's experiences with their family members applying for tourist visas. Read and learn as much as you can--you'll get what you need from there.

I don't know what country you are from, but I will tell you that it is very, very difficult for people from many countries to get tourist visas, especially for those who don't own property (like your sister). They may get lucky, but they need to plan as much as possible. I suggest going into your relevant regional forum to discuss this with people who might have had similar experiences.

On a side note: people here are trying to help you, and being rude doesn't really inspire anyone to make extra effort for you.

Those of us with brains already know that only the applicants apply for tourist visas; third parties, including relatives, play no meaningful role in the process....invitation letters are not required, copies of your bank account don't matter, your place on the phylum chart is not relevant...your parents must apply, on their own, and qualify by themselves and by their own circumstances...there is NOTHING you can do to positively influence the process (but you can make it more difficult by meddling in the process).

You may well offer to pay their way, but that fact alone will NOT automatically make them qualified for a tourist visa; you may wish that they could visit Disneyland or whatever, but that does not matter...the reasons for coming to the US are nowhere near as important as the reasons an applicant may possess that would ensure their prompt departure at the end of an appropriate visit (and not work without permission while visiting)..those are the simple, basic facts and they have not changed in decades.
