Waiting from NOA1 to NOA2 is the hardest. The best thing you can do is divert your attention. I doubt anything you do will effect when you get your NOA2. I was really patient near the end because I knew I would get it when it came. If you have your NOA1 in hand, you will get your NOA2. This process will not last forever and you will probably get it anyday now. Mine just showed up in my mail box after 4 months. I didn't get a touch, email or text notification.

I wonder why yours takes so long but mine went through in 4 months? I was born in the US and sent it my birth certificate and a copy of my passport. Maybe they have to verify who you are if you came from another country. That could explain the additional time of processing. There must be a reason for the additional time of your application processing.

Or they could have lost the files/documents/etc. This DOES happen sometimes. Being a squeaky wheel sounds absolutely warrented right at this point. ( I know someone who had this situation. She and he waited patiently, he was working in the US but returned to his country for a temporary contract job. The delays were so lengthy that he ended up losing his job. USCIS lost the application along with all the documents that were ORIGINALS. It was a nightmare for them. There are too many applications for them to deal with for errors to be completely avoided.)

LDA, keep your chin up and please keep us updated.

I'll try and Clarify whats going on.

Assuming with NO RFE's after 6 months you can put in a Service Request for USCIS to review your Petition. I assume this is what you did and your Congressman. However, they need a few days to review the File. Your timeline shows 6 months and a few days. Its a week-end and today is Sunday.

There is a record of calling USCIS and a record from your Congressman. GIVE IT A FEW DAYS NOW. One of 2 things will/should happen. NOA2 or RFE.

You should hear something by e-mail or NOA2 soon. This is the best I can do based on what you posted today. Patience I guess.

Did you and your Congressman use the word "Service Request"

Patience again. Good Luck!

Thanks for your comments I got a response over the weekend that says wait 30 more days (over 7 months) for additional processing time. Its ridiculous. Please help.

Not even a congressman has any weight on this. what is wrong? its so disappointing? Why did I waste time and effort on writing to FL® senator, when I could have call and get the same answer, "the petitioner needs to allow 30 more days..." sorry but they had 6+ months to do whatever.........

Allow additional time

If you want to contact your congressman...

1. Walk into his local office

2. Call his local office

3. Send a letter to his local office

Google (Name of congressman/senator) all information will be found

Congressman/Senators have no control over USCIS unless there has been some error on their part or they are not in compliance with the law. The law does not specify a timeframe for petitions to be completed.

Gary thanks for the input I already contacted the Senators office and all they did was send an email to USCIS, despite the fact that I told them my fiancee is sick and need to expedite in that basis. All we got was wait additional 30 days. My ??? they had 6 months to do whatever...... Im so confused

If you see that there may have been a possible error and Congressman is contacted usually will they provide detailed information? Also seem to be a little lost DOS and NVC work closely or are one in the same. When checking on AP who should be the one to contact that will have the most updated information?
