hi out there

just posting to update ... and ask an opinion or two .... my husband and I have not been together in person for 18 months now ..... it has been 15 months since we began our application .... we had everything done correctly but we did have to wait an extra 2 months for the interview last July .... the last 6 of these months have been in Administrative Processing ..... whewwwwwww ...... such fun!!! .... even though it's super difficult, our love and relationship continues to grow thank God and a little help from skype

at this point I am considering contacting my congressman ..... Have any of you tried this and could you share the outcome or any pointers? I don't want to risk putting our file on the bottom of another pile ... but on the other hand, who knows

I just want to add that I appreciate all the information I have found on this site ....

good luck and God bless

If you are in security checks the congressman cannot speed things up. I do recommend you contact them after six months so they are aware of the situation and can check on the case. Until the AP reaches one year there is really nothing they can do, even then not much except inquire why it is taking so long but it does bring this horrible situation to the attention of your elected official who has the power to change things.

The reason I recommend a contact with the congressman at six months is just for them to establish that the case is active, you are still interested in the visa process, and to find out if some unlikely situation happened such as the file being misplaced. I don't recommend contact at less than six months because it just places a burden on the immigration officials if they have to answer too many congressional inquiries about cases.
