I am curious. I am studying abroad and my interview is scheduled and I am flying back to US for the interview. I am missing my midterms. My Dean said it is ok and I can take them when return from interview. I am not sure if my DO has the same day oath or not. If they do not have the same day interview then I have to fly back to US and I am not sure how it will effect my school and exams and other things. If I pass the interview and if they do not have the same day interview, can I take the oath at the embassy in the country I am studying? Or I have to fly back again for the oath ceremony and attend it my District office?

I doubt you will be able to take the oath somewhere else. The country you are studying in, does not have any jurisdiction over your case. You have to apply and take the oath in the same state you live in. If uscis won't allow someone living in say FL to take the opath in NY, they most likely won't let you take it in a foreign country.

Stepdaughter didn't study abroad until after she was naturalized, wonder about your residency requirements. Treated the USCIS as our US military, don't question anything, just be there where and when, when told and on time, regardless of the weather, work schedule or anything else. Wife did ask the St. Paul office after she successively completed her interview if she could have the same day oath as other field offices. Was told, WE DON'T DO THAT HERE!
