The timeframe varies a lot, for us it took 36 days to get a case number, but some people in the NVC thread got theirs in a little over a week recently! I think they're working faster now than they were in December.

Just start calling next week.

As soon as you get the case number, give them both your email addresses, then they will send requests and fee invoices to you.

I know a lot of members sent the Choice of Agent as soon as they got the case number, but I waited to receive the email requesting it. It just took one day!

Is it the petitionner that can call NVC or the beneficiary can call too? For USCIS they only wanted to talk to my wife. When I call if my wife not next to me, they won t talk to me.

Not with NVC, you can call them, no problem. I was the one who did the calling all the time, my husband talked to them twice maybe.
