Waiting on IR1 visa interview date

Hi;

I have just been told from NVC that they have all the required documents and will be handing it over to the

SYDNEY consulate. How long is the wait from now till I get an interview date? When likely will my interview date be?

I'm hoping for a end of February 2012 interview and hopefully being in the States mid March 2012.

Priority date - September 9, 2011

Any info appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Darren

The standard reply from the NVC is that they only assign interview dates during the first 2weeks of the month (ie they will tell you within in the first two weeks of the month when your interview is scheduled for, if you don't hear in that time, then you have to wait til the next month to have a date assigned) - and in most cases this is true.

Since you got your CC before the end of the month - you should hear from the NVC about your interview date within the next 2wks or so. They usually assign interviews in Sydney about a month ahead, so I would think you may be looking at an early to mid March interview.

Each case is different - but just as a point of reference - I got CC on June 30 2010, found out my interview date on July 13 which was set for August 9th. So interview was set for roughly 5wks after CC.

Good luck - hope you hear something soon!

Hi KLS2010,

Thank you kindly for your reply. I really appreciate your response. Hopefully in the next week or two I should have an interview date.

I am so glad to be this far along; takes a while- constantly on your mind. Want to get to the end of this process and finally have a visa and

be on our way to the USA to see my inlaws.
