Well I wanted to know does USCIS interview the petitioner if the petitioner filed an I-130 for a spouse? I've heard from a few people that they require an interview with the petitioner. I would appreciate it if I can get a reply back as soon as possible

USCIS: (286 days)

10-04-2010 - Married

04-07-2011 - I-130 Sent

04-14-2011 - NOA1 Received

01-26-2012 - NOA2 Received

NVC

02-06-2012 - Case Number Assigned

02-08-2012 - Received AOS Fee

02-08-2012 - Received DS-3032

03-01-2012 - Emailed DS-3032

03-02-2012 - Paid AOS Fee

03-30-2012 - Emailed DS-230 & Police Clearance

04-10-2012 - Received Checklist

06-??-2013 - Emailed AOS

07-25-2013 - Case Complete

10-29-2013 - Packet 4 Received

12-31-2013 - Interview ----Administrative Processing

01-20-2014 - Embassy called to go in on Wednesday the 22nd

01-22-2014 - picked up visa, yyaaayyyy

No, It's not required but I am not sure if it is specific to your country.

Our Timeline:

Fall 2008- Met as friends while studying abroad

Nov. 2008- Started dating

Feb. 2009- Moved in together in Senegal

Apr. 2009- Got engaged

Aug-Dec. 2009- Long distance relationship from CA to Senegal

Dec-Jan. 2010- Christmas and New Years together in Senegal

Feb-May. 2010- Long distance (last time ever, no matter what!)

May 15th, 2010- Graduated!

May 20th, 2010- Moved to Senegal to live together

July- Moved to the Ivory Coast

August 20t, 2010- Married (YAYYY!!)

October- Found out we are having our first child in April!

December 22nd- Moved back to California due to political tension in the Ivory Coast

April 22nd- Our son was born

USCIS

June 3rd- Mail I-130

June 7th- NOA1 email/text

June 9th- NOA1 letter

October 3rd, 2011- NOA2

NVC

October 31st- NVC Case Number Recieved

Oct 31st- DS-3032 Emailed

Nov 21st- AOS Paid

Dec 22nd- IV Fee Paid

Jan 6th- AOS Packet Received

Jan 10th- IV Packet Sent and "False RFE" received

Jan 11th- NVC operator said AOS Packet was approved

Jan 24th- CASE COMPLETE!

Thank you for the reply. I'm hoping there Wont be one because I'm planning on traveling to see my husband in a couple months, the only problem is I have not received an NOA2 :( and it's been 9 months but I've done a service request so I'm crossing my fingers on that

CONGRATS ON YOUR NOA2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

iT DOES HAPPEN IN THE MIDDLE EAST HIGH FRAUD PLACES

But the USC gets an interview in the USA office with a CO or a SPECIAL home visit can be unannounced-rare but can happen if the doubt your relationship.

Sept 11, 2011 NOA2-took 19 days to get case number

Sept 30, 2011 NVC number and IIN received Friday-gotta wait till Monday

Oct 13, 2011 Case Completed- 13 days from receiving case number Took 32 days from NOA2

Nov 30, 2011 Notified of Interview date

January 19, 2012 Interview- 240 days from NOA1

INTERVIEW RESULTS-APPROVED WITH 14 WEEKS AP--but he got his visa in 56 days!!!!!!

USCIS interviews prior to petition approval are not "standard" but when they DO request them (fairly rarely), they actually call them "standard interviews". They happen in a local USCIS office. The visa interview is not conducted by USCIS but rather by a Consular Officer who works for the Dept. of State. I would proceed as if USCIS will NOT ask to interview the petitioner. If they DO, you attend that interview or nothing moves forward. ALWAYS arrange for somebody to monitor your mail if you go abroad for any extended time between filing and petition approval.
