Hi everyone!

I got a few questions regarding this form and what to submit...

I have I-134 filled out and my father is helping me as a co-sponsor, I-134 and letter of the company he works for

now come the best part... What i don't have is a JOB.. Recently lost my job due to this economy and the downsizing of the United States Postal Service (yeah, i had a federal job)worked there from 2009 thru 2011 but anyays, I have been recently collecting Unemployment Benefits, and of course looking for other jobs in te meantime with no luck at all in the state of FL. At this point I am considering anything, so i can submit the I-134 with all the other required documents i.e. (employment letter, pay stubs) what's your thought on this? what you all think?

I haven't received my W2 from USPS yet, I still hold the one from last year, and I also have requested the IRS transcript for the year of 2008 /09 and 10, since 2011 is not available yet

OMG!!

As i am writing this i just got the NVC letter in the mail, saying that they will be forwarding the petition to Rio de Janeiro within a week... I don't know what to do! it's a little frustrating... If they set an appointment for her and i have not gathered all the documents yet, Could they postpone the interview date? and if so, for how long?

Thanks...

I really appreciate if anybody has some sort of information

Mm, I would first find the best job you can so you can have another source of income. It looks better, (probably) especially if your dad has an income with a wide gap between his actual income and the minimum requirement for family size.

As far as transcripts go, my fiance also just had an interview and they accepted 2010 and 2009 along with stuff to prove my current income. I didn't even make CLOSE to the minimum requirement the years before haha. I'm sure you will be fine if you find another job? The process of actually getting the interview sometimes takes longer than you'd think, so you still have some time to get things moving.

About the other stuff, try asking someone who will be interviewing at the same place? :star:

Double check with your consulate (just email them) but you should be fine if you have a co sponsor that earns enough. My husband had only just started working when i had my interview and hadn't really worked before so had never filed taxes. We emailed the consulate in Sydney and asked what we could do about the situation. In the end they told my husband to write a letter explaining why he didn't fill out the I-134 and why he has never filed taxes, also took some of his pay stubs and work schedules. We had a co sponsor also which is his mother and she filled out an I-134 and and got a letter from her work, some pay stubs and most recent tax return. We also printed out the email correspondence we had with the embassy incase they questioned it at the interview.

So, email the consulate and ask them about it. Every consulate differs a bit with what they want for proof of income etc so check with them.

Finally time for AOS.......

Your 2011 tax return won't be required until after April, 2012.

Some consulates don't accept joint sponsors for K visas, but I haven't heard of that being the case with the consulate in Rio. You'll probably fine with a joint sponsor, but check the regional forum for Latin and South America just to be sure.

Most consulates also do not automatically schedule interviews for K visas when they receive the petition. They usually notify the beneficiary that they've received the petition, tell them what documents they'll need for the interview, and invite them to apply for the visa. Many consulates mail this in a packet often referred to as "packet 3", though some consulates are now doing this electronically. Most consulates won't schedule an interview until they receive a response for packet 3 from the beneficiary.

Again, check the regional forum to see what the actual process is like at the consulate in Rio. You should have time to get the documents you need to your fiancee.
