Hello guys; its been a LONG time since posting here; about 6 years I think.

Long story short.

I am from New Zealand; wife is the USC; we got married in 2005 and moved to the US in 2005 also; we did DCF which unfortunately does not exist any more which really erks me.

When the economy took a hit in 2008 we lost our jobs and decided to come back to New Zealand to have children because it is free here and get jobs because the economy in NZ was better so that is what we did.

2008 we moved back to NZ got jobs and had a baby beginning of 2011.

Started having problems adjusting to New Zealand life pretty much on day 1 of arriving but we had left everything behind in the US so we just sucked it up and carried on but lately things have gotten too stressful here with my family and the New Zealand way of doing things (it is also very boring here)

We have decided to move back to America and are starting to fill out the paperwork; I was on a ir-1; came over on a cr-1 but because I left the US and 'abandoned' my green card all I need to do is (according to the US consulate when I talked to them getting my sons US citizenship certificate) start the proceedings over again and because we are married for over 6 years with a child we wont have any issues.

In the i-130 it asks if the USC has petitioned for any other relatives including me and to list the date, place and outcome.

What do we put for that? I cannot for the life of me remember when I filled out the visa information in 2005; it was a lifetime ago it seems.

I also cant remember what forms I filled out; was it the i-129? I have emailed an acquaintance at the US embassy in NZ so maybe she can help me find out.

Do you forsee us having any problems with getting the ir-1?

Thank you very much.

Scott :-)

Get as close as you can, see if your buddy can get some information for you. They still have your old file, should not be an issue, except for income?

In Arizona its hot hot hot.

Dude - quite similar to my situation

Green card holder, abandoned it and moved to Egypt for work in 2009 after six months on un employment

Re-applied and just got my visa in the mail

At the interview , all the CO was interested in is why I lost the initial green card

And quite understanding once we explained the financial struggles

prior, because of the date/year -

there was a cr-1 visa, and an I-130 petition. There's also an A number on yer spouse - check the passport (if you can't find yer other paperwork) as it's in the printed visa page. date/place/outcome - date from the visa stamp, fudge backwards a week / place Auckland , US Embassy, perhaps? / outcome - CR-1 visa approved.

for now, file the I-130 to the lockbox in chicago - you'll note some 'auto-expedite' because of where you (the uscitizen) are (not in usa).

Good Luck !

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

I actually cannot remember how I filed in 2005 this is how I remember it.

I filed papers with the US consulate in Auckland before we got married and told them when the wedding was.

The day after the wedding I went to Christchurch to get my medical exam and xrays etc by a US panel physician.

A month after the wedding my wife and I went to Auckland for our interview at the consulate where I was approved and my passport got sent to me with a visa in it with Cr1 in the IV category.

My IV issue date was 28 July 2005.

We went for Direct Consular Filing.

We're in a v. similar position. On I-130, hubby put "applied for green card for current wife in 19xx at xxxx. Green card granted." We used the term green card as USCIS use that on their website.

I see that you have had your 1-130 approved by using this method so I think we will just put in Applied for Green card 2005 approved 2005.

How did you manage to get your NOA 2 within 20 days of filing for the i-130? did you expedite it?

Oh. That is good news then I guess thank you.

We have been waiting on new Zealand residency... You would think small country do fast processing but the wait times are up to 16 months no matter where you file.

While waiting they make you pay 300 every 12 months for a work permit... Robbers.

I'm special?

I also put my original A number on the forms.

Know what you mean about slow processing everything here in Canada has been slow. Wanted to wait for me to get Canadian Citizenship before hubby started job hunting and that took 18 mths (Citizenship process not job hunting). Hope we can get the CR1 before hubby's PR card expires as that will be another expense for a short period plus it takes 6 mths to process.
