Receiving hardcopy NOA2 to US while I'm abroad...

After reviewing some questions on here, I'm planning on getting my mom to co-sponsor my husband and I for the i -864. Hopefully I'll be receiving the NOA2 in possibly 2-3 months (fingers crossed). But I plan to be overseas at that time and will not be able to get anyone to forward my mail to Egypt, and quite frankly, I don't trust sending those documents over there since the mail can be a little sketchy. I know that I'm supposed to receive an email telling me when I'm going to get an NOA2. So, imagining there is no RFE, would the email contain enough info for me to just simply download the required forms? Or does the hardcopy contain a lot of detail info that would make it necessary to have the physical info they send to my USA address? Do you think I should hold off going overseas until I get the NOA2 hardcopy?

10-31-2011: Mailed I-130

11-02-2011: NOA1

03-07-2012: NOA2

03-23-2012: Paid AOS and IV fees

04-02-2012: Mailed IV and AOS

04-12-2012: Case Completed at NVC, forwarded to Embassy

December 8, 2010: Wedding date set; it will be on February 18, 2011!
February 9, 2011: Depart for China
February 11, 2011: Registered for marriage in Wuhan, officially married!!!
February 18, 2011: Wedding ceremony in Shiyan!!!
April 22, 2011: Mailed I-130 to Chicago
April 28, 2011: Received NOA1 via text/email, file routed to CSC (priority date April 25th)
April 29, 2011: Updated
May 3, 2011: Received NOA1 hardcopy in mail
July 26, 2011: Received NOA2 via text/email!!!
July 30, 2011: Received NOA2 hardcopy in mail
August 8, 2011: NVC received file
September 1, 2011: NVC case number assigned
September 2, 2011: AOS invoice received, OPTIN email for EP sent
September 7, 2011: Paid AOS bill (payment portal showed PAID on September 9, 2011)
September 8, 2011: OPTIN email accepted, GZO number assigned
September 10, 2011: Emailed AOS package
September 12, 2011: IV bill invoiced
September 13, 2011: Paid IV bill (payment portal showed PAID on September 14, 2011)
September 14, 2011: Emailed IV package
October 3, 2011: Emailed checklist response (checklist generated due to typo on Form DS-230)
October 6, 2011: Case complete at NVC
November 10, 2011: Interview - APPROVED!!!
December 7, 2011: POE - Sea-Tac Airport

September 17, 2013: Mailed I-751 to CSC

September 23, 2013: Received NOA1 in mail (receipt date September 19th)

October 16, 2013: Biometrics Appointment

January 28, 2014: Production of new Green Card ordered

February 3, 2014: New Green Card received; done with USCIS until fall of 2023*

December 18, 2023:  Filed I-90 to renew Green Card

December 21, 2023:  Production of new Green Card ordered - will be seeing USCIS again every 10 years for renewal

For your last question:

Definitlyy DO NOT hold off travelling if your waiting for Noa2... I did that and Its now on my 5th month and still no Noa2.. I also wished I could have had the Noa2 in 2 to 3 months but now I feel like I wont even get it in 6 months!

USCIS STAGE

8/22/2011: NOA1 EMAIL(never received a hardcopy nor txt)

3/23/2012: NOA2 EMAIL!!!! :D

3/28/2012: NOA2 HARDCOPY

NVC STAGE

4/09/2012: NVC Recieved

4/24/2012: Got NVC Case# and Invoice ID#

4/25/2012: Sent DS-3032 email and Paid AOS fee

4/26/2012: AOS fee showed "paid"

5/2/2012: Sent AOS Package and NVC accepted DS-3032 email

5/4/2012: Received and Paid IV fee

5/7/2012: Sent IV Package

5/14/2012: Case Complete at NVC!

6/6/2012: NVC Left!!

Beirut Lebanon Consulate

7/11/2012: Interview!!

Result: My husband is put in Administrative processing :(

8/17/2012: Embassy called my husband to bring the pasport for the visa!! :D

Hi congrats on your marriage and have a great time with your spouse.

You said you hope for NOA2 in 2-3 months.

I just want to make sure you get familiar with Igors list.

This list shows how long people wait for NOA2 from Egypt and how many days from sending 130 to the interview.

Looks like most people wait 3.5 months or more. A few lucky ones get an expeditie or a quick approval and I hope that is you but do not be disappointed if it doesn't come quickly. It just causes more stress if your expectations are too high. USCIS average right now is over 6 months for CSC. They are approving petitions from June 18th right now.

Look at the egypt portal timelines to get the best idea.

Also, make note to the people still waiting from filing in August for Egypt and they do not have NOA2 yet.

But, some people do get lucky!

May 24, 2011 NOA1

Sept 11, 2011 NOA2-took 19 days to get case number

Sept 30, 2011 NVC number and IIN received Friday-gotta wait till Monday
