Hello again

I wonder if anyone knows how to get in touch with the California S.C. an actually get to talk to a person? My husband keeps calling them, but can only get machines. What is he doing wrong??

Our case has now taken more than 5 months, and they told him to call if he hadn't heard anything by December 31.

Hope someone can help :)

I don't believe you can contact the CSC by phone directly.

Try writing perhaps?

How to prepare for your call?

Before calling the NCSC please have available

- your receipt number:

- alien registration number:

- type of application filed:

- date filed:

- Online case status:

- Processing times applying to your case type

- Check your priority date (if applicable)

- Have all relevant correspondence with USCIS (NOA1)

How to talk to a live person at USCIS?

Contact the National Customer Service Center (NCSC) at 1-800-375-5283.

Call early in the morning (8.00 am)

Option 1: Then dial 1, 2, 6, 2, 4 (exact sequence). Use these options every time you are prompted.

(You can also try - 1 - 2 - 1 - Case Number - 1 - 3 - 3 or 4)

Option 2: Call USCIS and Do not press anything (don't choose a language). They will think you have a rotary phone and will transfer you directly to a live person.

Option 3: Don't don’t choose the number for “case status”, but do different ones instead (for example “RFE”; “expedite your case”, …)

Option 4: Military Help Line: 1-877-CIS-4MIL (1-877-247-4645); Members of the military and their families may call to receive assistance with immigration-related questions.

If they speak Spanish just say English please. Now you can ask what you want.

CSC does not have a direct phone line.

You need to contact USCIS and follow the options to speak to an operator. Generally people on here follow the prompts to "change an address" and then when they get the operator they ask them about their case.

You can email CSC :: csc-ncsc-followup@dhs.gov

Quite a few petitions lately at CSC are taking around 6 months. Generally when you call / contact them they tell you to wait another 30-60 days and contact them again at that time.

Hi there -

I just spoke to someone from the national customer service recently - actually may have been last week. I didnt have to call too many times either and the lady I spoke with was very helpful.

I know that you are asking about the California Service center specifically, but I havent been able to find their contact number to begin with so I don't know where you're even calling. Given that, I too think the only place you may be able to reach a "person" would be at the national cust serv line...

At any rate, Best of luck with everything!

Ciao
