Visiting on VWP

Hi All,

I want to come and visit my husband for 8 days whilst we are waiting for our I-130 to be approved. I was wondering would I face any issues at POE? Have people travelled recently and how was their experience. I am going via Canada.

I will have letters of employment, return ticket, car documents but as I live at home I have no rent agreement. Has this been sufficient previously?

I know there is no rule prohibiting travel but I want to see what experiences others have had.

I visited my wife in September and October with no problems what so ever. However, the CBP officer never asked if my wife was a USC. He just asked who I'd be vacationing with and I said my wife. He asked where she was, and I said "waiting on the other side of customs." *Stamp* "NEXT!"

Guess I was lucky he never asked.

I brought employment letters, a bank account statement and return ticket but he never asked to see them.

My husband has had no problems crossing (via Trudeau in Montreal) during the I-130 phase, the NVC phase, and even now during the horrid AP. He carries evidence such as you have with him, but he's never been asked for it. When asked, he says he's going on vacation, and that's all. Don't volunteer anything they don't ask for, answer all questions truthfully, and you should be okay. Just have a back up plan in case you get a ####### agent that day.

Same here,

I got married Nov 2010 and visited husband over Christmas. We haven't even started the visa procedures back then and I was only asked for my papers for the return flight, nothing else.
