Hi everyone!

Lee and I got married on december 3,

the consulate officer told me to start the AOS process as soon as I get married, ok but I would like to know if there is a timeline for doing it, I read different answers on that questions...

Anybody knows actually if there is or there is not a timeline for starting the AOS process?

I 129F sent: 29/04/2011
Noa1: 02/05/2011
Noa2: 19/07/2011 (took 77 days to get approved )
NVC received: 08/08/2011
NVC left: 24/08/2011
Consulate received : 29/08/2011
Packet 3 received : 10/09/2011
Packet 3 sent back to embassy : 15/09/2011
Packet 4 received : 07/10/2011
INTERVIEW : 13/10/2011
APPROVED
Visa in hand : 20/10/2011
POE: 21/10/2011
WEDDING : 3/12/2011

Filed AOS in December 2014

After 1 year and 5 months I got approved (one RFE and a letter 1 year ago of a potential waiver interview)

Approval 13 May 2016! :dancing:

there's really no timeline for it, you can apply whenever you are ready too. I would suggest doing it sooner rather than later though as you won't be able to work or get a drivers license etc

Finally time for AOS.......

12/07/11 Sent AOS package

12/09/11 AOS package delivered

12/14/11 Received NOA for I-485 and I-765 (we're not applying for AP)

12/22/11 Received letter for Biometrics

01/04/12 Biometrics in Phoenix

01/31/12 Received email update from USCIS saying that we've been scheduled for an interview

02/03/12 Got an email saying card production had been ordered for my EAD...now just to wait for the card...

02/09/12 Received email saying EAD card has been sent

02/13/12 Received EAD card :D :D :D :D

03/06/12 Interview in Phoenix :).....Approved :D

03/14/12 Received Green card in mail.....

....no more USCIS until December 2013

The sooner you get all your documents in a row, Social Security, Drivers License, work permit , advance parole etc. Apply for Social now.

The sooner the better, as the bene will be out of status. Best idea is to file ASAP. Bene will not be able to leave the US at all until AP or Green card, and may bring peace of mind to know the option exists.
