Hello, I am trying to figure out the affidavit of support I am active duty army and do It says I need a letter from employer , what is this and do I still need it even though I am in the Army? Also what are all the other supporting documents..Thank you for your help

There is no "letter from employer" for active military personnel persay, but your CO can write a letter as to your rank, duties, etc...

Just include recent LES and you'll be fine.

We included 8-9 LES statements leading up to the interview, his W2s and tax returns with the I-134. No letter from employer or anything of the sort. AD military only needs to meet 100% of the poverty guidelines for the I-864 guide not 125%.

I turned in a memorandum from the Commander stating my standard name line (rank, name, last 4 of SSN and ETS date)and that the character of my service. It beat sending in multiple LES statements or additional documents as proof of employment. Plus for active duty Soldiers marrying a foreign national does require informing the chain of command as this stands to affect security clearances. As you well know some jobs in the Army you cannot do without a clearance.

Hi I had the same doubt and asked the embassy, they told me I would need the taxes transcription (last year), letter of employer, W2, and pay stubs, and the form filed, I dont really know in the case of being in the army, so maybe you could send an email to the embassy and ask them about your case in particular so they will exactely tell you what they are expecting from you to present SUERTE!

You need to find out if the US embassy in Peru uses the 864 or the 134 for the K-1 interview --- regardless of which is used for the interview the embassy follows the poverty guideline chart for the 864.
