Happy new yr to everyone on VJ. My prayer is that everyone of us will be approved in our various filing categories.

I would like to know whether it is a MUST to submit remittances receipts in addition to other documents at the interview??? That is receipts of money transfers that ones fiance or fiancee has been sending to him or her. In our case we dont have such receipts there's no remittances from my fiance because i'm gainfully employed and have a good salary though it could be better. lol!. We are saving for our marriage when we together. In case the CO posed this question to me as to why my fiance was not sending me money what good and acceptable reason can i provide??? is it a must that we submit remittances receipts to the interview. Waiting for your good responses VJERS. THANKS

There is no requirement that the USC petitioner had sent money to the beneficiary. Matter of fact, in SOME Embassy's this is a red flag to the Consulate.

You are proving ongoing legitimate relationship to the Consulate. Do this with photos of the 2 of you together, phone records, copies of emails, snail mails, e-cards, etc...

I know you will be interviewing at a difficult Embassy, but there is NO requirement for having sent money to the beneficiary during the wait from NOA-1 until interview.

Good luck.

Many of us from High Risk countries DO show receipts for money transfers as supporting documentation, although the transfers should be from the Petitioner to the Beneficiary.

I would suggest going to your particular countries forum to inquire about this issue.

it sorta breaks down -

fiance vs spouse then

high fraud vs normal

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

For many Embassies, the sending of money may be construed as trying to "buy the marriage".

They are not required and can only do more harm than do anything at all. I'd send receipts for gifts sent, but not money.

As of Dec 7, 2009, now Zero miles apart (literally)!
