I was looking at the vjwiki page for the cr-1 visa and it states this is needed to be sent with I-864 and DS-230. Can anyone explain what this means? I have already sent the I-864 and had not seen anything about this cover sheet until now. Will they accept it without that? I have no idea what is meant by this term.

Well, NVC likes to send emails. When they request the I-864 financial evidence, they email you a coversheet to download. You put it on top of all requested documents you are sending to NVC. The same for the DS-230.

That's it in a nut shell.

did you get the AOS Fee bill in the email?

Are you paying FEES to NVC via the Online Payment Portal, or no ?

Oh I paid the fees 3-4 weeks ago online. It's all my fault. I did not closely read their email. I've got no one to blame but myself. I now have the cover sheet via their link in the email. Problem is I did not send it with my AOS. So, I wonder if I can send it to them separately or do I need to re-do it all. It should not slow us down at least because my wife is nowhere near having all her documents. I have just emailed her the cover sheet she needs.

Well I just got off the phone with the NVC. I told the operator what I did, which was put a piece of paper in there where I just hand wrote the case number, DOB etc. She said that would be fine and at most might delay it a day or two. She said check back in 20 business days if nothing has happened with my case because that's generally the longest it takes. I just hope she told me right because these same people told me last week over the phone to send I-864 and have my wife send DS-230 with no mention of supporting documents for my wife and no mention of any kind of cover sheet. I'm thinking judging by the time it's taking me to talk to me they get a high volume of calls and they just rush everyone through as fast as they can without explaining everything they need to. Either that or some of them are new and/or incompetent.

I've written this elsewhere

but

callback 3 to 5 times each day, for 2 days,

asking the same question [make sure you get different Human, each time]

and

note the answers in a log book.

then run some math on the answers, take the answer that has over 50 percent.

Lol Darnell maybe you are part of the reason for their call volume. But I think I will call about this one more time because it would not be that difficult for me to print everything out and send it in again with the cover sheet.

Well just talked to them again. I got pretty much the same answer. I guess I'll be waiting 20 business days to hear from them and I'm going to officially stop worrying about this cover sheet. I hate doing anything wrong or not the exact way they want it though.

ya well, focus on the IV set, the DS-230 thingie.

when you can pay, pay

then

1 to 3 days later, DOWNLOAD the cover sheet for the DS-230.

Note - they ain't the same, these coversheets, between DS-230 and I-864 (IV vs AOS)

Oh all has been paid. (for awhile now) The cover sheet my wife needs has been emailed to her and she said she printed it. She is just waiting on police clearance then she will have everything she needs and will send it all to the NVC ASAP via courier. I told her to also go over with me everything she is sending before she sends it. I want to avoid an RFE if at all possible.

I will try it when I get a chance. I don't have a computer and I do everything on my iPhone so I will have to see if it's even possible. When I need to print anything I do it at work. The main I'm focused on is getting the visa. Where do I go to make a profile and timeline? I'm sure my ignorance on wasting a couple of weeks thinking they would be sending a packet helped someone else move along a bit quicker.
