Hi Guys,

I sent my I-130 on the December 14 and attached G-1145 E-Notification form, but did not hear from them up to now. We sent our I-130 by Express Mail to PO Box of USCIS Chicago Lockbox instead of the normal mail. It was a mistake, however, someone from the USCIS came and collected the mail in the same day. Would that be the reason for the delay, or is it because of the holydays?

Most of the ppl here got the NOA1 after two or three days.

Please advise.

If you call USCIS up and manage to talk to a tier 2, then they're most likely going to tell you it's because of the holidays, and to give them a little extra time to process it, unless it's already there and they simply didn't quite get the notification thingy (G-1145) set up. If you sent a check, try to see if it's been cashed yet.

"most likely" is because I called them up myself and asked. But since it's USCIS they sometimes give a different answer depending on who you talk to.

Some have waited longer(10-12 days) to get a response.

It's probably because of the holidays, plus the e-notification can take a few days to come. See if they cash your check (they never seem to have much delay in doing that )

I know it's stressfull, but don't worry, they're not gonna lose it!

Log in to your account(or create on) on USCIS ( https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/Dashboard.do - on the left side)

Right when you log in, there's a "last updated". The date is when it's last been touched.

type your receipt number on the check list ...good luck
