Interview At Embassy

My fiance has his interview on the 6th of January @ 9.30... What would be the best time for him to arrive there. I know on Embassy site says to arrive no more than 30 mins. before, but have read of people getting there earlier cause of the queue. Any suggestions on time?

I always liked to arrive early because the worst that can happen is that you have to wait to get in line.

It's first come first served no matter what your interview time says. Some will line up at 7 am. They don't start inside until 8 am. The longest queue outside is before they open. How cold will it be? Would you rather queue in icy rain for a longer time outside or wait longer inside in a chair because you showed up at 8:30. Totally up to him, based on weather and his transportation arrangements to get there. The time is something you don't need to worry about. Even if he came at 10 am, nobody would notice or care.

My interview was 9:30, I was at the embassy at 6:00 lol!!!! I was coming from Derbyshire and hate people attitude in London its all go go go, so I got the early to miss the rush and make sure I missed traffic. There are cafes along the street with Goulds pharmacy so I just went there for a leisurely breakfast and then got in the queue around 7:30. Your fiance can get in the queue when the like really, they didn't throw me out for being early and I've read other storied of people being early and it being fine.

They will be waiting ages in the Embassy, I was number 7 of the 'I' visa's and they'd got through over 110 of the 'N' visa before I was called so take a book or magazine lol!!!

I had the same problem. I would say now, as I have had my interview that you should air on the side of caution. My K1 interview took 5hrs in the embassy overall. The hotel didnt have a luggage storage facility so had to leave it at Euston station, it costs £8.50 per 24hrs. You could also leave you electronics with it rather than use Goulds Pharmacy.

Hi,

I travelled down on the night coach from Co. Durham and arrived in Victoria at 6.30am for my 9am interview appointment. By the time I got a coffee and found my way to the embassy, left my electronics into Goulds and called my fiance it was about 8am. I took my time. The queue wasn't long at that time and I was issued my ticket number at the front desk at 08.19! There were others in the queue with appointments at 8.30 right up to 11. But that didnt seem to matter. I was out of the embassy by 11.30am and able to squeeze in some shopping, lunch and a walk before getting the 4pm bus back up north.

However, every case and every officer is different so that might just be my experience!

We arrived at seven for a 9am interview and were very glad we did as we did not have our DS160's nor the digital photographs so had to go to Gould pharmacy and pay a small fortune to have it all done. There were three of us (myself and two children) so it took about an hour and a half to complete said forms. Earlier is better in my opinion Good luck!

A K1 does not need an I-160. The masses in line for the tourist and student visas use that form

Applicants applying for a visa at the Embassy in London, or the Consuatle General in Belfast are required to complete the DS-160. K visa applicants applying for a visa through the Immigrant Visa Unit at the Embassy continue to use the DS-156.

In Qwerty's defence there IS a sign saying do you have your Passport, Appointment letter and DS-160. I knew it related to the B2's etc ( as I have had one ) but it is a little misleading.

And people have reported the line wranglers saying "be sure you have your I-160". I just wanted all the K1s and CR1s who read this topic to know they do not need I-160 ever in their process.
