Hi VJers !!!

I am patiently impatiently waiting for my NOA2, which will not arrive until probably Spring 2011 :wow: Anyways, my question is the following: Can he go NOW to see a doctor and get his exam and all his vaccines in order, or does he have to wait until we have recieved the NOA2???

Just thought if possible, that would be something to get done and out of the way. But not sure if that would be acceptable.

Thanks for your help !

Well, I'm not 100% sure about Peru, but for he needed to have his London case number that was assigned to us by the NVC in order to get his medical done. They need to have somewhere to send the results to.

I started my vaccination quest ahead of time as the beneficiary will need to have several for the AOS anyways. Some are done in a series and for some he/she may need to have some blood work done. I say you can get started on those right away. I also started familiarizing myself with forms and timeline flow charts so I knew what was going to be needed and to feel comfortable with the process.

Good luck stay busy

To get the official US medical you will need to have NOA2. You wouldn't want to get it too early anyway as it would most likely expire.

However, vaccinations are a different matter. You can and should find out what vaccinations are needed and get them (and proof of them) as soon as possible. At least from my experience and what I understand the doctors giving the official medical will not do vaccinations at the same time.

Hi :)

Regretably he will have to wait until the NOA2, then it has to be sent to NVC and NVC will send it to the embassy, you can communicate with the embassy 7 days after it has been received and ask for the date of your interview, maybe they could allow you pick the packages up so that you can set your appoinment faster, they will give you a date approx 1 month after the day you will call to set it up.

So the answer is no, you will have to wait to have it all.Good luck in the process!! :)

Hi to all VJers !!!

I was hoping someone could help me out. I cant seem to find this information  :

So we sent out our I129F forms in October. Now I understand that when that gets approved and we recieved a NOA2, we will get information for more paperwork that will be required for the interview, as well as, the Medical exam and the Vaccines that will be required. My question is, in the mean time, can he be getting his Medical exam or his vaccines now, or do we have to wait until we are told? And if we can do it now, does it have to be at the doctors the have listed from the embassy?

Also, could someone please give me insight as to what will my next step be, as soon as we do recieve the NOA2? I know its still early, but I just want to get everything in order, do a little more research and make sure that we have everything we will need, for when the time comes !!!...Is there a place where I can get a list of what will be expected? :help:

Thank you so much !!!

PS - :ot: Happy Holidays to all of you....Holidays will be rough for all of us this year, away from the people we love, but looking at the bright side....next year will be fantastic !!

The medical exam is valid only for a year - To AOS the medical needs to be valid or you will pay out your A-- in the USA to get a new medical. If you get the medical early and things take long then you will have issues with the medical possibly expiring.

Some places require an A# or letter from the USEM to be able to even book the medical.

Your I-129f was approved in 5 days from your NOA1 date.

Your interview took 67 days from your I-129F NOA1 date.

AOS was approved in 2 months and 8 days without interview.

ROC was approved in 3 months and 2 days without interview.

Medical Early - Don't do it. Like Inky says, it will probably expire, and you will have to do it through the few contracted doctors in your country (may be as little as one or two).

Vaccinations Early - Go for it. If you know what vaccinations your fiance needs (most common that people don't have it Tdap I believe) then go ahead and get them, just make sure you get proof of them. As long as you ask, the doctor will sign your immunization card, or give you a new one.

So we will wait for the medical exam then, until we have the NOA2.
