Does anyone know about when my fiancee will have the interview with customs when they arrive in USA? She will arrive at JFK (NY) and then go to Chicago for the final trip. So will she be detained at NY or Chicago? Thanks for any information.....James :)

Your I-129f was approved in 5 days from your NOA1 date.

Your interview took 67 days from your I-129F NOA1 date.

AOS was approved in 2 months and 8 days without interview.

ROC was approved in 3 months and 2 days without interview.

She gives the big brown envelope to them when she goes through customs. They usually ask a few questions, just conversational really, and make sure you understand that you have to get married in the 90 days.

That would be at her first stop, her POE, which would be JFK.

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

James,

she won't be detained (lol  ) and there won't be any formal interview..she might be asked one or two simple questions like "who's sponsoring you?" and "when you're getting married?". I went through exactly at JFK and I wasn't asked nothing at all. I only had to wait few minutes in the secondary room to get my passport back and that's it. Everything will be fine

It is not customs that will interview her, it is Immigration that will ask her these questions...at customs she will asked she is bringing and will check for contraband items such as meats, plants, and other such and the value of any items that she may have to pay a duty on to bring into the US.

I came through SFO. I used the New Immigrants queue. The very large sign at the rear, behind the inspections desks stated Customs and Immigration. That is where my envelope was handed in.

There is no interview at customs. Anyone entering the US, including citizens, are subject to a secondary inspection at the disgression of the CBP. It neve happens to most people.

I have crossed international borders hundreds of times (twice yesterday) and have only ONCE had a secondary inspection when entering Canada ...for no apparent reason with no apparent result except to delay me about a half hour. I am sure it was a "random" inspection, which they also do.

True, but this is not specific to the K-1 and it is the same thing all of us do when we cross borders. I was in Ottawa for a meeting yesterday afternoon, crossed into Canada and back yesterday and got the usual 5-6 questions then "Welcome to Canada have a nice day" (I think Canadians actually mean it) And then when I came back, same thing The US guy said "have a good evening" but you KNOW he didn't mean it. :P

Your fiancee's entry should be no different than many others. They may ask her when she will get married and her answer should be "within 90 days". With Alla they just looked at her papers, stamped everything handed them back and said "get married within 90 days" They didn't even say "have a nice day" but is WAS JFK and the ugly cow was probably PO'd about another damn hot RUB woman taking the American men she wanted. Yeah, that's it.
