We have filed all of our papers with the NVC. We are now just waiting to find out when our interview date will be in Ciudad Juarez. Does anyone have ANY idea about how long it takes after the papers are filed to the time you receive notice of the interview? Do things take longer around the holiday season? Thanks!

I do not know about Mexico. Egypt is a 4-6 month wait from case complete.

Can you edit your timeline thru your profile and add your case completed at NVC date?

Sept 11, 2011 NOA2-took 19 days to get case number

Sept 30, 2011 NVC number and IIN received Friday-gotta wait till Monday

Oct 13, 2011 Case Completed- 13 days from receiving case number Took 32 days from NOA2

Nov 30, 2011 Notified of Interview date

January 19, 2012 Interview- 240 days from NOA1

INTERVIEW RESULTS-APPROVED WITH 14 WEEKS AP--but he got his visa in 56 days!!!!!!

And you have to have had a notification that your case was closed at the NVC before they issue you an appointment date. After they close it its ussually only 30 days until you get your appointment date letter, which is ussually another 30 days in advance. :thumbs:

April 2008- Met in person at Friday's Restaurant for dinner

July 2008 - Dating

Nov 2008 - He proposed!

July 25th 2009 - I do! Best day of my life

July 26th 2011 - USCIS received I-130 ( I hate that we waited a long time, i guess at least we wont have to remove conditions)

Feb 8th 2012 - APPROVED!!! (197 Days or 6 1/2 months from NOA1)

NVC

Feb 21st 2012- Assign case number (13 days from approval)

March 9th 2012-Packet IV sent to NVC

March 14th 2012-NVC closed my case in 3 DAYS!!! Waiting for interview date = Nerve wrecking

Consulate

March 16th 2012-Biometrics Appointment

May 17th 2012-Interview day!!!

May 18th 2012-Will see my family again after more than 10 years...

How will I know when our case is closed? We filed electronically, so I would think it's faster than 4-6 months right???

NVC will send you an email indicating the case is complete.

December 21, 2023:  Production of new Green Card ordered - will be seeing USCIS again every 10 years for renewal

July 23, 2025:  Filed N-400 online

December 9, 2025:  N-400 interview - approved
