Does anyone know where we can look up Processing Times for the I485 from a family based visa on the USCIS site? The option doesn't seem to exist or am I missing something? Employment based AOS is claimed to be at about 4 months now, not sure if I believe that though. We can hardly get a service request when there is no set time to accomplish the AOS from a family based visa.

This is my question too, what is considered "normal" processing time in this case? I haven't found any info anywhere. Can we EVER file a service request if we're never outside "normal" processing times as they don't even seem to get published?

I'm pretty sure its going to be at the discretion of what ever second level customer service agent you talk with. Currently it appears we're going to have to be at least over a 6 month wait. Kind of sucks to have been forwarded to CSC when the people getting interviews are getting their green cards months ahead of us forwarded for faster processing. If they truly are working on September now, then the processing time is 7 months currently. :(

i just filed a service request and they didn't say anything that it was to early. But the ladynon the phone had no idea what she was talking about.. she was talking about the local field office the entire time and that I will have my interview there. I explained to her several times that my case got transferred to csc.

AOS based on K1:

11.10.11 wedding

16.11.11 filed for AOS

18.11.11 NOA1

12.12.11 case transferred to CSC

20.01.12 biometrics

20.01.12 EAD/AP combo card in production

28.01.12 received EAD/AP in mail

Yeah, isn't it fantastic that these people answering the phones have no clue of what's going on... We wrote to the local congressman and I just received a letter from him saying that he's contacted the USCIS and will get back to me when he's received their response.

...So the congressman just got back to me with the USCIS' reply that my case is pending within the normal processing time: "The current processing time for these cases is approximately six months from the date we receive them into the CSC." Oh, and "Your constituent may check our processing times at www.uscis.gov" Really??? This process is a joke.

Did you tell your congressman you cannot check AOS from a K-1 that has been sent to CSC at www.uscis.gov? If we could do that, then maybe we could have a bit more patience. As it is, we hear all types of wrong information when calling in and can just guess when they're going to get to our case, or if they even have our case and haven't lost it.

In retrospect, I should've put that fact in the letter. Just didn't realize that the USCIS would have the nerve to just put it out there like that to look good for the congressman and make "the constituent" look like an idiot. Cool of the congressman though to forward me the actual CSC reply. They sure seem eager to please when it comes to people in power. And capable of fast processing! :P

I'm actually thinking of writing another letter to this congressman, explaining what a nightmare legal immigration can be, with the insane processing times and whatnot... It's election year, who knows this guy might even listen. Being very anti-ILlegal immigration how about making some changes on the legal side of things, could solve a lot of problems with illegals too... Not that I think he's enlightened enough to get that but somebody somewhere should at least hear our stories. And thanks a lot CSC- helpless little immigrant as I may be, I am quite capable of navigating your stupid website... :bonk:

Neither political party wants to fix immigration issues. They get too much press banging drums over the issue on one side or the other. Immigrants can't vote, so why help them? Those that sponsor immigrants are too small of a minority to matter. But people that think they lost their job to illegals or think illegals are stealing their tax money are a huge number of voters.

Yeah, I know. Just had an idealistic moment there. This country is so full of ignorance and hatred and probably couldn't function without some form of slavery. :(
