Hey guys! I checked my online status and this is what it said:

"The USPS reported that they picked up mail from USCIS containing your new card on March 28, 2012. You should receive your new card within 7 days. If you do not, or if you move before you get it, please call our customer service at 1-800-375-5283."

Does that mean approval of 10 year GC?

I think wifetobe's approval date is before 3/28...

@wifetobe, at first, congrats :dance: !! When is the Decision Date? You didn't receive any e-mail or apploval letter before card? (You can know your approval date by the expired date on your new card though... ;))

Thank you for the congrats honey..I guess this was my lottery win and not the mega millions I chanced buying so many tickets lol..I was actually approved on March 26th! My expiry date is 3/26/22.

Hi guys... I just realized when we went in for fingerprints on Dec 14, 2011, we walked out empty-handed....no record that we went.....did this happen to anyne else ?? I I don't want them to screw up and say that we never came in for fingerprints

The biometrics notice says to bring the notice to the appointment. Both times I've gone (for AOS and for RoC) I took the notice and they stamped and initialed it to indicate that I was there.

I'm surprised you even got in without the biometrics notice. Security is normally very reluctant to let someone in without some kind of piece of paper indicating an appointment. Is it possible they stamped it and you've since misplaced it?

Not that I'm aware of. The forum server software does render differently [more compact, etc.] in Mobile Safari than on desktop browsers, but I think most of the functionality is still available, and there will be a link to just render the full version at the bottom of each page.

You might get more authoritative answers in the Site Related Discussion forum.

My approval letter showed up today. It indicates a proper approval date of March 28th, so I've updated the list and my timeline appropriately.

The letter itself is typewritten [Courier font] on normal white paper.

Some interesting points about the letter, besides its not being printed on I-797 stock:

  • It has been folded by hand to fit an envelope, and inexpertly at that - in additon to the normal folded-into-thirds folds, the top inch of the sheet is also folded back.
  • It includes my A#, but without the "A" in front of it - just the nine digits thusly: ###-###-###.
  • It includes the correct decision date, which in this case is one day before the 2 card production ordered emails were sent.
  • It includes the classification symbol IF1 [immigrant Family 1] that will replace the classification on my previous GC, which was CF1 [Conditional Family 1].
  • The text in the middle is very similar to the boilerplate on the AOS approval notice, although that one was printed on I-797 secure watermarked paper stock. They may be attempting to save money by minimizing their use of the obviously expensive heavy secure paper.
  • Between the "Sincerely" and the "MARK J HAZUDA" lines, there is a stamp of Mr. Hazuda's signature,, that says, under the signature itself, "NSC DIRECTOR". Not CSC, which is where I filed. Interesting.
  • The address for the USCIS office in Salt Lake City is obsolete, they just moved to a fancy new building fairly recently [A few weeks before I did RoC biometrics, in fact.]
  • On the back, on the bottom right hand corner, oriented vertically, is the handwritten, in black pen, initials "BD".

Aside from a Centennial, CO address (instead of the Salt Lake City office), that's identical to mine.

Even down to the folding, and the BD initials on the back!!

I seem to have thrown the envelope away, but I THINK it was postmarked Omaha, NE rather than Denver, CO or Laguna Niguel, CA.

I think vartanarsen2 meant that he left it there when he went for the biometrics.

I don't think it matters, vartanarsen2, you are in the system.

I was never asked for the stamped bio notice ever again. I think the odds of them totally losing your record of proper attendance at your bio appointment is very very slim. You should be totally fine.

Isn't it funny how these processes can make us paranoid sometimes? :)

HeatDeath thanks for sharing your letter and all its details, will definitely help people who question if their letters are for real due to lack of security paper. :thumbs: Congrats again too!

It's interesting the approvals are coming from Nebraska. Last year there was a thread somewhere where some CSC filers were getting approved up to a couple of months before others and the early ones were reported with zip codes from Nebraska. It made me wonder at the time if the NSC, which used to process I-751's was helping out. Though a VJ member who lives nearby said that place is like a ghost town.

Just speculation :blush: given some of the approvals are getting mailed from there (unless they just mail computer sent approvals). But hey if the NSC does have some of the files they're moving faster than the CSC and perhaps they could help out some of those poor VSC filers!

I wish they'd give us more specific info so we could know what's going on like:

Your file is number 100 on employee X's desk, expected wait time 6 weeks

Or:

Your file is on the desk of someone who is on vacation and has other case types to work on first, expected wait time 8 weeks 2 days

Still this time round is a breeze compared to AOS :thumbs::ot2:
