It was a ticket for not paying the train fair, The machine was out of order and then two of us came in and the police gave us a ticket, He said it was going to show up as a traffic ticket. But I don't know if it is a civil offense, Because the lady where I paid the ticket she said it was a civil offense. I don't know how it is showing up in my background. I want to know if I have to specify that in the N-400 application we were not arrested or anything like that, The police saw the machine was out of order he just gave us a yellow ticket in New york city transit subway.

Help!

I paid the fine it was early this year, I just got my 10 years residence a month in a half ago, Now I am preparing for N-400, I paid the ticket and that was all, I told him I am a student, The police told me try begging to the adjudicator tell them you are an student and you don't have to money, unfortunately, I was far away from where I got the ticket and it was very costly to pay transportation tickets so I decided to pay it.

Sure sounds like a sting operation, instead of getting that machine repaired or sending a much lower paid attendant to sell tickets, station a cop there to fine you.

Interesting cartoon from 1948 regarding how our freedoms are rapidly disappearing in our country, time for the majority to stand up. Couple of fellows came here with another string operation, using good looking so-called prostitutes to lure them into deep deep trouble.

If in doubt, list it.

Reminds me of Kathrin41's ticket for surfing without wearing a vest. It's outright funny, so give the I.O. a reason to smile as well. They have such a boring job!

There is no room in this country for hyphenated Americanism. When I refer to hyphenated Americans, I do not refer to naturalized Americans. Some of the very best Americans I have ever known were naturalized Americans, Americans born abroad. But a hyphenated American is not an American at all . . . . The one absolutely certain way of bringing this nation to ruin, of preventing all possibility of its continuing to be a nation at all, would be to permit it to become a tangle of squabbling nationalities, an intricate knot of German-Americans, Irish-Americans, English-Americans, French-Americans, Scandinavian-Americans or Italian-Americans, each preserving its separate nationality, each at heart feeling more sympathy with Europeans of that nationality, than with the other citizens of the American Republic . . . . There is no such thing as a hyphenated American who is a good American. The only man who is a good American is the man who is an American and nothing else.

Our society demands each of us be at a certain place at a certain time, surprised no one is screaming. Can see why you hopped that gate with no way to legally buy a ticket.

Our town became the same way, no one is screaming. If you have a kids in the sixth, eight, and tenth grades, live in town, no other means of transportation, have to drive and drop them off at school. Senior high is located on the far NE corner of town, junior high on the far SE corner, grade school on the far SW corner. And you have to be at work at 8:00 AM. This last semester, high school announced the doors will not be opened until 7:30 AM and if the kid is one minute late, parent has to come in with the kid or won't be admitted.

Only way to make up time is too speed, each of these schools is on a single lane road with a huge traffic jam severely augmented by a bunch of 9/11 cops running around. Got so bad, city had to elect a judge, know the guy, a crooked attorney I already had to report to the state bar. Sure wouldn't want him judging me. Averaging about 250 traffic violations a week. No longer have kids in school, but would be screaming, but no one else is, must live in a country loaded with idiots.Did get a car for my stepdaughter, her fine was rolling at a stop sign, had to be explained to the USCIS as a further delay and detriment.

So besides getting trapped, you will have to explain it also. Its double jeopardy.
