HAVE RECEIVED NOA2 AND INSTEAD OF MENTIONING THE NVC AT ALL NOR GIVING A CONSULATE TYED NUMBER IT GIVES ME(THE BENEFICIARY) A NEW NUMBER AND THE WORDING READS '"The above petition has been approved, and forwarded to the listed consulate. Please contact the consulate with any questions about visa issuance..." We're a bit a confused because we thought there were meant to be more steps taken with the NVC who claim not to have our case when we give them the numbers. This is a London to use....does this seem normal...would NVC ever be passed over? Or is thing generic wording we all hear on NOA2s .....very confused.....was execting a pack and so on.

excuse lack of 'P', the keyboard is sticking!

Mine stated the same. But yeah your approved petition will still go through NVC, that's what fellow VJers told me.

ALL approved petitions go through NVC for additional background screen and name checks before being forwarded to the applicable Embassy.

Your NOA-2 is phrased the way all others are. Expect to have a NVC letter mailed to you approcimately 7-10 days after I-129F petition is approved.

Half the letters say this and the question gets asked several times each day. There are two basic form letters.

ALL petitions go to the NVC. ALL. no exceptions.

The NVC will send you a letter with the case number for the consulate they sent it to.

I have seen several comments like that, the bottom line is an approval, all goes to NVC.

In Arizona its hot hot hot.

Don't expect a "packet" from London. You get a letter saying your file has arrived and a link to their instructions on a webpage. I gave you that link in another reply to you. That is your "packet". Don't wait on it to get started working on your forms, ordering police certificste, getting free shots from NHS before the medical exam, and getting the I-134 mailed from the US.

Thanks, yeah I already have all of the vaccinations and certs for them, police forms, birth certs etc and the AOS is on its way as we speak. I'm pretty much locked and loaded as far as all of that goes. Great, so its a link, not a packet, thank you...I did try opening that link but it didn't work. Will try to source it from elsewhere. Thanks VJers

This is the url that doesn't work for me. It hangs up my computer with high CPU usage every time. http:// london.usembassy.gov/kprocessing.html

But on that page it provides another link on the right--

Instructions for Applicants

Applicants who have received a letter from the Immigrant Visa Unit at the Embassy advising them that an approved petition has been received in their name and of the case number accorded to their application, should follow this link for further information.

Note: Only applicants who been notified by the Immigrant Visa Unit that a petition has been received in their name should complete the visa application forms. Forms received without the applicant's case number will be discarded.

And that page is the one with the instructions and form downloads. And it still works for me.

Paper packets stopped in Jan 2009.

Yes, it worked great for me too.....thanks. Can't see whereabouts any case number would be inserted though?? I ll have a better read.

Hmmm...and why are you wanting to insert a case number?? If you'll explain more where that came from, maybe I can help.
