Hello,

It has been almost a month that I received a notice of I-797c from USCIS (VSC).

online status says 'initial review'

Reading the forum I figured out most of the people got the actual waiver in 3-4 weeks.

The processing time on USCIS website shows 4 months?

Is there anyone on the same boat ?

Any idea how long will it actually take?

thanks

Hi,

My fiance and I just filed for his J-1 HRR waiver as well. I am under the impression that the waiver is given on a case by case basis and it can take anywhere from 2-4 months.

On what basis did you file for the waiver, No Objection or something else?

Don't check your status everyday, it will drive you crazy, once a week should be fine.

Hope you get your waiver soon :)

I am the petitioner.

You are confusing USCIS and DOS. USCIS has nothing to do with J1 HRR Waiver - DOS does: http://travel.state.gov/visa/temp/info/info_5503.html

It has listed steps and how to check on processing times.

My waiver was approved by DOS and they sent a favorable recommendation to USCIS. It will be USCIS who will issue a final waiver.

I have applied for waiver on 'NO objection' basis.

Thanks Guys. Yes I did apply under the category 'No objection'. Had lot of issues / hurdles during the previous steps also but after a painful wait they were solved.

It has been more than six months I started the process.

Hope I get the waiver soon!
