yes rear wheel drive on the camaro. truck is an automatic, when i bought it i wanted a stick shift but the dealer didn't have any stick shifts

I feel your pain. Most car dealers don't stock stick shifts (or only a few) because they tend to be cheaper, meaning they make less money on them. Grrrh. Where's free choice when you need it.

personally i hate a truck with an automatic transmission. having been there and done that with both an automatic 2 wheel drive truck and a stick shift 2 wheel drive truck, an automatic is perhaps easier for trailering (if one is uncoordinated) but a stick shift 2 wheel drive is far better if you get stuck (rocking out the vehicle). and yes, the stick version is less costly, lasts longer, and is superior in gas mileage than an automatic. why sticks are not more popular is a mystery to me.

Partially correct. Most stock autos over mannual because the demand is greater for the auto... what better way to drive, drink coffe, and eat that bagel mcmuffin while reading the news paper and checking stocks on the compy but with an automatic..??

i drove that camaro thru a snowstorm in germany. that's why i got a 4 wheel drive now. seriously, it's like trying to drive a pig on ice.

A manual is better only if you know how to drive it properly. If you're always riding the clutch and stripping gears, I'm guessing it'll make more visits to the shop than an automatic. It takes experience to drive a stick WELL...any idiot can merely drive a stick.

I got to drive the Civic on an A road coated in ice with about six inches of snow on top of it. That was an experience I don't care to repeat; a Honda Civic handles like a bus on bone-dry roads.
